Because it is the nature of sound, it transforms into the nature of form. Because sound is contained by the aggregate of form. Then, why is it said, "those without mind"? Because it is thought that those also want to be grasped by the ear sense. The so-called "those are not the nature of speech" means that they are not the nature of sound. Regarding that point, stating the reason is that "if speech is sound," this sentence will elaborate. The word "merely" is to distinguish between name and sentence. Sound makes names and sentences appear from the continuum, so it is the cause of understanding meaning. But it is not directly understood without relying on names and sentences. Therefore, what can understand meaning is different from the collection of names, etc. Therefore, speech does not express meaning. Then what is it? Speech is to make names appear, or to generate names, so it relies on names, and expresses the meaning of names, in order to make it understood. This shows that this name directly refers to meaning, but the sentence does not. Merely sound is not speech. Then what is it? It is the difference of sound. Also, what kind of difference is that? Therefore it is said: The nature of letters ka, etc., the sound by which meaning can be understood, those are speech. Asking by blocking the collection of names, etc., is "By what sound can meaning be understood?" and so on. The so-called "Whatever speakers limit to meanings" means that the order of letters a, etc., expresses this meaning. Whatever meanings are limited in that way, meaning is understood by it, but not by all. This shows that depending on convention, sound can understand meaning, but not by all, nor just by existence. For example, in gauh (Tibetan: གཽཿ), etc., the sound of the letter ga and the letter au and the sound with a long mark, in this order, limits nine meanings, and from this those meanings can be understood. The sentence "Whoever thinks that the name expresses meaning" will be elaborated. How can it have the ability to understand meaning? The name of this meaning is

This is it. From the extensive explanation, if one does not understand the meaning, then even without being proficient in terminology, one can understand. If that is the case, there will be no transformation. This means that it is accomplished solely through the sound that understands the meaning. It is said that "what expresses the meaning is separate from the name and is accomplished through the sound that understands the meaning." Because one is proficient in connection, the understanding of this meaning exists in the sound, that is, the sound that understands the meaning, because the term is established by naming "the name of this meaning is this," therefore one is proficient in connection. For example, in the extensively appearing "whatever belongs to the name," etc., if language is the nature of sound, then, if it is something that produces or clarifies its own distinct name, if that is the case, because no distinction is accepted here, all sounds will also produce or clarify names. Or, if it is thought that only the sound that mutually distinguishes names is language, then "or, the difference of sound is like this," etc., will appear extensively. If expressing meaning is to generate knowledge that has meaning as its object, then this will be accomplished solely by the difference of sound delimiting the objects of meaning, so what is the need to name it differently here? The difference of sound also cannot clarify the difference of name, because there is no definite reason. It should be admitted that all sounds either clarify all names or do not clarify them. If proficiency in terminology is the definite reason, then why not think that it is clarified solely by the meaningful itself, because it depends on proficiency in terminology? Therefore, name and language are considered different. For it, not being proficient in terminology is unreasonable, because there is no difference from knowledge, like an image, one must definitely grasp the name that is the cause of the knowable. Therefore, it is not that knowledge alone does not produce the sound that has the nature of the image of the knowable, so why would one think that it cannot clarify the meaning? Furthermore, "sounds are not aggregates," etc., because language exists sequentially in letters, and also letters are not momentary, so the sounds of letters A, etc., do not exist simultaneously. Because there are no parts, one dharma is also not produced by parts. Producing
