I am not either, because it is not manifest in an instant. Furthermore, the mention of "conditioned" refers to where it is extensively explained. After saying "they are the characteristics of the conditioned," the second mention of "conditioned" is to be understood as meaning that these are the characteristics of the conditioned. Because the characteristics of the conditioned itself are the characteristics of the conditioned. If it were not so, it would only be said that these three are the characteristics of the conditioned. And there would be doubt that these, like water and water bubbles, are the characteristics of the very existence of the conditioned. This is an example from the perspective of differing dharmas. Just as a water bubble is the characteristic of the existence of water, but is not the place of water itself, so too, these are the characteristics of the existence of the conditioned, but not the conditioned itself. Or, just as the characteristic of a daughter is virtue and non-virtue, but not the daughter herself, so too, here it is the characteristic of virtue and non-virtue, but not the conditioned itself. The second mention of "conditioned" is to make it known that these are the characteristics of the conditioned itself, but not of existence itself, nor of virtue and non-virtue itself. The conditioned itself is that which is made by the aggregation of causes and conditions. If, because it does not exist, arising and so forth, like instants, cannot be established in a continuum, and cannot be manifested, then who would say that arising and so forth do not exist? It is said that it does not exist as it is distinguished, but it is not that it does not exist entirely. If that is the case, then what is the arising of the continuum? What is the cessation? What is the otherness of abiding? It should be said. Therefore, it is extensively explained that the object of the continuum is arising. Furthermore, what is the continuum? It is that which, having become cause and effect, is not different in time and is not interrupted in place, and is said to be one and holds to it. For example, with states such as softness, to people and

It is like using grains and other situations as metaphors. That is not different from the imputed near-taking, nor is it not different, because it would become truly existent. Nor is it non-existent, because it is admitted that there are two truths. It is desired that the conventional truth and the ultimate truth exist. If someone thinks that only mutually dependent continuums can be expressed by the word "continuum," then the atoms of objects and faculties are indicated by the word that refers to the object, because those are also the ultimate truth, so it would be a fault of not having the conventional truth. If that itself is with dependence or without dependence, because the past and the future do not exist, then the present also does not exist as a single continuum, then Nahyabhava Ekopa (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Literal Chinese meaning) would become the cause of the imputation of the continuum, the past and the future and the present situation, becoming cause and effect, is not the nature of distracting the mind without interruption. After that near-taking, the things imputed as a continuum do not exist, it is not one, because those also depend on one, like people and grains, those that exist in the past and the future, also manifest that the occurrence itself is the nature of consciousness of various forms of phenomena. Because it is called form, etc., it is unreasonable to impute it as a single continuum, it is not the nature of the continuum. Similarly, from things that exist in the conventional and ultimate, things that are not other are produced, because whatever is not existent in the external realm, the nature of consciousness, is the nature of universal distraction, and is extremely shown in the external realm. That which exists in the conventional, shows the nature of consciousness that is completely established in the external realm. That is not existent in the ultimate, so when the pot and others do not have their own different nature, also because different appearances appear in consciousness.
