Cessation is not desired to exist, because relying on its immediate cessation, the arising of the mind in the state of destruction is not contradictory. It is said that when that (mind) arises, that (cessation) also ceases. In this regard, the venerable Vasumitra considers the mind with intentional consciousness, but not the mind with the consciousness of the basis of all, the Alaya-vijnana. It is said that that is unreasonable, because whatever is said to be the cessation attainment is with mind, that is unreasonable. Contact arises from the aggregation of three, which are the sense faculty, the object, and consciousness. "Due to contact, there is feeling," this is extensively explained. If there is a cause without obstruction, the result will definitely arise, therefore, for this object of cessation attainment, perception and feeling, etc., will also not cease, just like contact. However, this is extensively explained. Due to contact, there are feeling, perception, and all minds, but not all contacts are the cause of feeling, etc., therefore, in cessation attainment, since contact is a condition, perception and feeling, etc., will not be prevented, which would be a fault. Because of turning away from perception and feeling, that state is attained, so in that state, even if there is contact, it cannot establish the cause of perception and feeling, etc. An example of that is, "Due to feeling, there is craving," etc. "Feeling, etc., does not arise," etc., the word "etc." includes perception and mind. It is said that it is not because of being special, just like feeling, saying that all contacts are not the cause of feeling, that is not so. Why? Because in other sutras, feeling is specifically pointed out. "Born from the aggregation of ignorance and contact," this is extensively explained. Contact related to ignorance is the contact aggregated with ignorance. What arises from the contact aggregated with ignorance is what is born from the contact aggregated with ignorance. Thus, for the arising of craving, it is not specifically pointed out that feeling is born from the contact aggregated with ignorance, therefore, it cannot be established that feeling without ignorance is the cause of craving. Feeling arises

Regarding "touch" and so on, there is no distinction made such as "this touch is the cause of feeling, and that touch is not." Therefore, since there is no separate acceptance, all touches are the cause of feeling, and this example is not appropriate. Therefore, the Sautrāntikas say that the samādhi of feeling and perception is not the aspect of a cause, because they produce touch, just like meditation without discrimination, which is a word of dispute. This is also explained separately by itself. However, as it is said, "What is feeling, what is mind, what is perception, what is consciousness, the non-mixture of these mixed dharmas is contradictory, and thus, the certainty of the mixture of discrimination, observation, and mind is not summarized." Samādhi accompanied by mind is virtuous, because in order to prove that mind and mental factors are one, it can be a samādhi, otherwise it is not. Thinking this way, the question is asked: "How can there be samādhi without mind?" "Is it to prove the equality of the great elements?" To this question, the equality of the great elements is that the arising of mind and mental factors exists without contradiction, and proving it is doing it that way. The mind of the application of samādhi alone proves the equality of the great elements, because it makes body and mind harmonious with each other. Others say that the equality of the great elements is the nature of being without harm, just as the cessation samādhi is the nature of being without harm. Or, for the cessation samādhi of the mind, samādhi is samādhi, because it is contradictory for samādhi and mind to exist together. How can there be samādhi? Therefore, it is said, "Because it will be obtained." Like this, the mind of the application of samādhi is what leads the arising and cessation samādhi of mind and mental factors. Regarding "because it obstructs the arising of mind," because the cessation samādhi is like a dam on a flowing river, it is of another time.
