Because it generates perception on the path to liberation, it is not contradictory to generate it first in the realm of form. Since mind and mental factors are the same in nature as cessation, the reason for establishing different names is not seen. The question is: Why are these said to arise extensively? Since there is no difference in the reason for establishing sound, both the cessation attainment should also become names without difference. Or, even though all minds and mental factors are of the nature of cessation, why is it only the designation of the cessation of perception and feeling, and not the place of other minds and mental factors? "Because it is inconsistent with them" means it is inconsistent with perception, and inconsistent with perception and feeling. To combine the samadhi with those is to combine the samadhi with those. "Because it is inconsistent with perception, it is combined with the samadhi of non-perception, perception is a disease! Perception is a tumor! Perception is pain!" and so on, and "This is peaceful, this is excellent" and so on, are extensive arising. Because it is inconsistent with perception and feeling, it is combined with the cessation attainment, one is the root of the afflictions of views, and the second is the root of the afflictions of existence. Therefore, they themselves are inconsistent. "Like knowing the minds of others," etc., because of diligently combining with it in order to know the minds of others, therefore, that which is called knowing the minds of others does not know feelings and other dharmas, and it is the same here. Others say: Because the arising of dharmas that are equally possessed, cessation and attainment are obtained by abandonment, therefore it is not appropriate to declare this name and the dharma of various desires that are possessed at the same time, because this will become not exceeding the category of the aggregate of consciousness. Some people think that the samadhi of non-perception is only the cessation of perception, just as the cessation samadhi is the cessation of perception and feeling. Those Tārihārmantareṇamukhyaiḥvābṛhyā, etc., because they admit that the entering into perception is a variety of differences, therefore perception

And they definitely acknowledge many feelings, such as thinking, reasoning, and sleeping. Now, the question of how arises extensively, because we do not see sprouts and so forth, which possess causes, arising from seeds that have been in that state for a long time. The statement "because the past also exists" arises because if it exists, how can it be the past? It is not because it has completely abandoned its own nature as the past of cessation of action. Therefore, the Vaibhashikas consider that just as something has ceased immediately, something that has ceased for a long time is also the same as the immediate cause. Having kept in mind that there is no alaya-vijnana, the Vaibhashikas are mentioned. Atra sūyārthaṃ. The statement "these two are mutual seeds" means that the mind also has the seeds of objects with sense faculties, and the body also has the seeds of the mind with sense faculties; thus, both are mutual seeds. The former teachers are the former Sutrantikas. If vijnana arises from the body with sense faculties without relying on a similar cause, then when the basis and object are simultaneously present, vijnana will arise for all objects. Since the later mind arises depending on whatever the previous mind was, it follows that for the second, since there is no immediate cause, even if the basis and object are present, they should not arise simultaneously. If it is said that even if there is no mind, it arises from the seed of the body with sense faculties without mind, this is also unreasonable because there is no special cause. The phrase "from the complete questioning" means from the treatise composed by himself. The statement "it will become a fault" refers to what was said earlier: how can mind arise again from a mind that has ceased for a long time? Mentioning that it has ceased for a long time is to eliminate the immediate cessation. It is also not possible to arise from what has ceased immediately. Because cessation is non-existent, just like something that has ceased for a long time. What if it ceases immediately now? If it has ceased for a long time, but just like it has ceased immediately, there is no contradiction in arising from it. Immediately
