The latter phrase, "for the sake of...", is an explanation of the former. To indulge in pleasure is to follow desire. Among them, the saying "there is possession" is widely spread. Although there is no difference in the word "possession" in the two sutras, on the one hand, possession is freedom, and on the other hand, it is another dharma. Where does this come from? Is it from what should be, or from another sutra? Master of Learning Virtue said: On the one hand, possession is freedom, and on the other hand, it is another dharma. This comes from rationality. Only in that way is freedom reasonable, because it is the fruit of its owner, and it is always close to it, as well as unmanifested virtue, and for the past and future non-virtue, what other freedom is examined besides obtaining? Some say that the past and the future are without substance. Some say that generating possibility is not an undesirable fault. Under all existing ordinary beings, obtaining sentient beings, and the Arhat at the end of death's mind-state, because there is no possibility of generating uncontaminated dharma, there will be the fault of becoming an Arhat, and from the worldly forbearance onwards, because there is no possibility of generating afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing, there will be the fault of becoming a stream-enterer, etc. This shows that they do not fully understand the intention of the author of the treatise, but are speculating wildly. In this regard, just like the sutra of the Wheel-Turning King, it will not be said that the other aspect also has freedom. Then, how is it that, just like in the sutra of the Wheel-Turning King, having freedom is not another dharma, the other aspect also uses the word "having" to express that the seed here has not been taken away, has not been damaged, has fully grown, and is the time of freedom, and is not another dharma? If it is distinguished in this way, then the faults raised by those who wildly speculate about freedom and generating possibility are irrelevant. Even so, what is wrong with that? Just as in the sutra of the Wheel-Turning King, it is considered freedom because it does not have another dharma, similarly, in the other aspect, it is completely established as another dharma. From where does it say that there is dharma there?
