By... extremely flattering to others, which is also harming. The word "also" means to closely gather the operation of other faculties, etc. Having finished explaining the five mental factors, next, whatever is virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral, arising in all minds, that is the many-ground dharma; arising only in virtuous minds, that is the virtuous many-ground dharma; arising only in afflicted minds, that is the afflicted ground; arising only in non-virtuous minds, that is the non-virtuous many-ground dharma; whatever arises in minds with minor afflictions, that is the many-ground of minor afflictions. It should be understood that all of these exist after the mental factors. The teacher Sangharakshita says that in an instant, one can comprehend multiple meanings. If other dharmas are added, then it can also be seen that changes occur in the continuum, such as adding ghee, smell, water, and wind. In the continuum of a ghee lamp, one can see complete brightness, complete darkness, sound, and movement, etc., in an instant. These five mental factors are not only these, so what are they? There are also other uncertain ones. What are those? Therefore, it is said that there are investigation, analysis, regret, and sleep, etc. The word "etc." includes desire, anger, pride, and doubt. These do not necessarily arise simultaneously. Now, we must distinguish which of all the minds necessarily arise. There are five types of minds. How are there five types? Virtue is only one type; non-virtue has two types, namely, only ignorance without mixture, and corresponding to other afflictions such as desire; neutrality also has two types, namely, obscured neutrality corresponding to the view of the aggregates and the view of extremes, and unobscured neutrality, namely, arising from maturation, deportment, skillful activities, and transformation. Thus, there are twenty-two types of arising. It is not necessarily only twenty-two types, but one must grasp the key points, and in some places, regret is added. It is said in this way.

Therefore. Diligence and equanimity cannot exist simultaneously, because their functions are opposite, like walking and staying. Effort and equanimity are not simultaneous, and the sutras also prohibit these from occurring simultaneously. In some cases, remorse is added. There are two dharmas in the many uncertain grounds: remorse and sleep. Because these two are not the six aggregates of consciousness, nor are they included in the three realms, nor are they entirely afflictive. Therefore, in a virtuous mind, wherever there is an opportunity for remorse, it is added there, and it becomes twenty-three. The nature of evil deeds is called remorse. The dharma of mind that is related to the deed itself and its meaning is not. Therefore, the word "this" appears extensively here. Is every object of remorse itself remorse, or not? It is recollection. How can recollection, which is the object of remorse, be called remorse, since it is not the nature of evil deeds? Because the object is the proximate cause of the object. For example, it is widely said that the object is emptiness. Emptiness is the separation of the agent's person from the aggregates. The samadhi that focuses on it is called the door to liberation, emptiness. The impure is gathered with things such as shaking and throwing. The object is non-attachment, just as it is called impure. Alternatively, by establishing the place of dwelling, the recollection that focuses on evil deeds is called remorse. Where is the establishment of a place by a place seen? It is widely said that it is also in the world, meaning that it is not limited to treatises. Remorse is also a place of recollection, because it arises in dependence on it. Therefore, the so-called remorse is remorse establishing a place by a place, and recollection is a characteristic of later distress, and is trustworthy. Alternatively, this is the establishment of the result as the cause, the cause is remorse, and the result is recollection. It is not called remorse because of the proximate cause of the cause. For this, for example
