Therefore. Because of that, whatever arises slightly is said. Regarding "obtained or," obtaining means those belonging to one's own continuum, it is said. Only that which appears as a sentient being arises without doubt together with attainment. That which does not appear as a sentient being is not so. Therefore, the word "or" is spoken for the purpose of distinguishing. A little arises together with attainment, and a little does not arise, in order to show this. Among the four conditioned phenomena just mentioned, form has already been distinguished and shown as aggregates. Mind has been shown as realms. Mental factors and non-associated formations have not been distinguished. Therefore, in order to show the distinctions of mental factors, it is said, "The five mental factors." "Ground" means the place of opportunity, it is said. "Opportunity" means going or arising. Regarding "What is the place of opportunity for what?" that in which something does not go is the place of opportunity. In that, it is said from the world. In that, these have many grounds, therefore they are those with many grounds. Those which arise together with all minds in all ways. Therefore, mind is not a great ground, because it does not arise together with other minds. The place of opportunity is the place of opportunity, it is related to mind through object and aspect. In all ways, doubt arises here because the words "afflictions, great ground, etc., are related to suffering" are thrown out. Because it is intended to explain through the very object of support, from this, whatever is a ground is said to be its support. The great ground is called a great object because it is completely determined as a support. Because it arises in all minds, this is well related. When these ten dharmas arise having been done, the word "sound" is said in order to show that the two, attention and equanimity without effort, are contradictory in a moment of mind, therefore it is not desired. Regarding "feeling is experiencing," having previously explained the nature of feeling itself, now only a slight distinction is shown, namely, there are three kinds of experiencing, namely, the senses.

To establish the distinction between body and mind, the various explanations given do not go beyond the three kinds of experience. To illustrate this point, it is said that there are three kinds of experience. These three experiences, namely pleasure, pain, and neither pleasure nor pain, should be understood as arising respectively from tactile sensations that benefit, harm, and are neutral to the body, which are associated with states of liking, disliking, and the opposite of both. As for "attention is the manifestation of mental activity," attention is the wavering of the mind, which can be virtuous, non-virtuous, or neutral, and can be inferior, intermediate, or superior. The wavering of the mind can be either wavering or extreme wavering. If something exists, just as the power of a magnet causes iron to waver, the mind also wavers towards its object and does not remain in other moments. What acts upon the mind that has no action? It is clearly without action, yet it appears to have action. Attention is the action of the mind. As for "apprehending signs in objects," a sign is a distinction of an object, a factor that distinguishes objects such as male and female. The co-emergent phenomena that correspond to eye consciousness and so on are the nature of apprehending signs, because they have special characteristics. They are the characteristics of the meaning of apprehending signs, but they are not complete determinations because they are weak. As for "desire is wanting to do," it means wanting to manifestly apprehend the object. All minds and mental factors are preceded by wanting to manifest. Precisely for this reason, all phenomena are said to have desire as their root. If desire is the nature of wanting to manifest, then what is the difference between desire and craving? Craving is the characteristic of manifest attachment, while desire is the characteristic of wanting to manifest, so they are different. As for "contact is..." the following will elaborate in detail. Sense faculties, objects, and consciousness, as cause and effect, touch each other and are in a similar state. In this state, a mental factor called contact arises, which is the cause of all feelings. This is called contact. Wisdom is the thorough
