Oṃ. Having eyes etc., possessing five. As it is said, "Having eyes etc., possessing five," it is because each of the eyes, ears, nose, and tongue is pervaded by four, such as equanimity. Whoever possesses any of the eyes etc., undoubtedly possesses the five faculties. Among them, one who possesses the eye faculty does not necessarily possess the ear faculty, because in the desire realm, it is possible not to have obtained or to have lost them. Those born in the form realm, and some who have not obtained or lost them in the desire realm, do not possess the male and female faculties. Not possessing pleasure etc. should also be extensively explained like the body faculty. It should be understood that possessing the ear, nose, and tongue faculties is similar to that. These eyes etc. do not arise without the body faculty, because they depend on it to arise. They are not interdependent, because they arise without depending on each other, and because it is the fifth ground. The confusion regarding other faculties such as the ear etc. should be extensively explained like the eye faculty. Also possessing mental pleasure. Like possessing the faculties of eyes etc., one undoubtedly possesses equanimity, life, mind, pleasure, and mental pleasure, i.e., possesses the five faculties. Regarding the remaining ones, some possess them and some do not. Among them, noble beings born in the formless realm possess mental pleasure, but not eyes etc. Those born in the desire realm who have not obtained or lost them do not possess them. Noble beings born in the first, second, third, and fourth dhyanas do not possess the male and female faculties. Among those born in the desire realm, those who have not obtained or lost the body faculty do not possess it. Noble beings born in the form and formless realms, and ordinary beings born in the first and second dhyanas do not possess the faculty of suffering. Those who are without attachment to desire do not possess displeasure. Faith etc., and the faculty of complete knowledge etc. should also be explained as before. In uninhibited states, it should be understood that one possesses as stated. One born in the second dhyana, who has not obtained the third dhyana, then...
