In order to eliminate wrong views and suffering, one must strive again to turn others into one's own. Therefore, here one wants to directly refute the colored roots. The rest can be refuted simply by combining them according to the circumstances. The so-called mind and three feelings, namely pleasure, pain, and equanimity, are only three because they are the three aggregates of consciousness of the mind, and are defiled and undefiled. Pleasure is the feeling of the mind in the third dhyana realm, and only physical feeling exists in the desire realm and the first dhyana. Therefore, physical pleasure, the root of equanimity, and the mind which is the nature of the five consciousnesses, can only be abandoned through cultivation. Mental pleasure, equanimity, joy, and the mind which is the nature of the consciousness of mind, are associated with the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing, and therefore are to be abandoned by the path of seeing. The remaining afflictions and non-virtuous, and the defiled virtuous dharmas, are to be abandoned by the path of cultivation. The undefiled are not to be abandoned. What is to be abandoned by both is suffering. The so-called suffering, being associated with suffering is suffering. Its essence is suffering itself. This is the meaning of suffering. Because there is no samadhi, there is no undefiled. Being associated with the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing is what is to be abandoned by the path of seeing. The remaining virtuous and afflictions are to be abandoned by the path of cultivation. The seven faculties such as the eye, as well as the faculty of life and suffering, because they are colored in appropriate circumstances, and are not afflictions, nor are they born from the sixth consciousness, so they can only be abandoned through cultivation, and not by the path of seeing. As it is said: not afflictions, not to be abandoned by seeing, not form, not six, not born. Because it is completely defiled, it is not non-abandoned. Although the five are not to be abandoned, but.

It should be known that these are not "Ra" either. Because they are without outflows, they are not to be abandoned; because of virtuous actions with outflows, they are to be abandoned through cultivation. Regarding "not three," in any place such as the faculty that knows all, it is not something to be abandoned, because those without outflows are without fault. If someone asks: Is it not said in the analogy of the raft that the path should also be abandoned? Answer: Although it is said, it is not to be abandoned through seeing and cultivation, but it is called abandonment through relinquishing when entering the realm of nirvana without remainder of aggregates. In the extensive explanation of "In which realm is it first?" if someone asks: Is only "resultant" obtained first? What else is there? One should clarify the continuity of the nature of mind that is not afflicted. Regarding "In the desire realm, the first two are resultant," if someone asks: What is the meaning of "first"? Answer: Because the faculties of eye, ear, nose, and tongue, which are included in the resultant, are obtained gradually later. The seeds of the eye and so on should be obtained at that time. Just as the faculty of the body at that time becomes the cause of generating its own consciousness, the eye and so on are not like that. Therefore, whatever is called "two" is also applied to the blind and so on. Master Vasubandhu says: Now it is not said that way, because it is possible for five consciousnesses to arise in the continuity. Regarding "not born miraculously," if someone asks: Why are the faculties of mind and equanimity not included, since those born miraculously are born with complete faculties? Answer: Because it is in terms of the resultant. The statement "The existence of birth is afflicted" inevitably becomes afflicted, while the resultant is unspecified. Faith and so on may also be obtained at that time, but because that is virtuous, it is not the resultant. Colors such as hair, which are not faculties and are born from the resultant, may also be obtained at that time, but these are not mentioned here because this is the occasion for faculties.

Therefore. Again, if asked, how many kinds can a spontaneously born being attain? The answer is: In desire, first add the words "initially." If it is a non-gendered one, it is said to be without the two faculties of male and female. Because it can manifest the nature of male and female, the male and female faculties are called gender. Since there are no non-gendered spontaneously born beings now, it is said here to be like the initial kalpa. If it is a single-gendered one, it means that it lacks either the male or female faculty. Since there are no spontaneously born beings among humans now, it is said to be like in the heavens and so on. This is seen as the excellence of the place of birth. Question: Why is there an extensive explanation of spontaneously born beings also having two genders? If it is said that the word "desire" refers to objects or the desire for objects, and not to the realm itself? Therefore, it is extensively explained that "because desire is the main thing," meaning that desire is the various objects such as form, and that which is primary is the desire realm, hence it is called the desire realm. Since both the desire realm and the form realm are the same in having form, why is only the form realm spoken of with the word "form"? Therefore, it is extensively explained that "because form is the main thing," meaning that form is primary because it is faith and has light. The phrase "also in the sutras" shows that in the sutras, because form is the main thing, the form realm is spoken of with the word "form." In the phrase "above," the formless realm is above the form realm. If it is said that because it does not abide in an object, how can the formless realm be above the form realm? Therefore, it is extensively explained that "because of the distance of meditative absorption," meaning that why is entering into form concentration first, and entering into formless concentration later? Thus, it is spoken of in terms of being earlier or later, and not in terms of abiding in an object like the desire realm and the form realm. Because the formless realm is also the most excellent in birth compared to the form realm.
