Regarding the statement that death occurs due to aging, decay, and the exhaustion of merit, the answer from the previous side should also be applied here. The phrase 'another question arises from a question' refers to the emergence of this other question from the question, 'Then, can the life-sustaining activities of an Arhat monk be stopped?' From the question, 'Why are the life-sustaining activities blessed?' the answer is that the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, do so for the benefit of others. Another reason is for the sake of the Dharma's duration. If the Dharma's duration is not solely for the benefit of others, there is a distinction here: even if the Dharma endures, others can see the ability of some to benefit others. Therefore, it is said, 'From that, others do not see other abilities.' The phrase 'small benefit to others' refers to the enjoyment derived from begging for robes and alms, etc. The phrase 'like illness, etc.' refers to things like illness, sores, and pain, etc., because they are full of various sufferings. The phrase 'life is exhausted' refers to the time of entering the realm of Nirvana without remainder. The phrase 'among humans' means only human sickness, because of the appearance of the Buddha and the duration of the Dharma. The phrase 'in the three continents' serves to indicate that it is not in all humans, because there is no Dharma, so it is not possible in Uttarakuru. The phrase 'male and female' is because there is no realization regarding food, etc. Stating both is to indicate that the Arhat is a liberated one who is not connected with time, but not a non-returner or a liberated one connected with time. This is to show that by obtaining the highest Samadhi, he has mastery over Samadhi, and because he is without afflictions, afflictions cannot shake his continuum, because he has separated from the desire of the three realms. For a non-returner, although there is indeed mastery over Samadhi, afflictions do not easily shake his continuum, because he still has afflictions. A liberated one connected with time, although afflictions do not easily shake his continuum, Samadhi

It is not self-mastery, because one is bound by afflictions, and the second does not have the distinction of samadhi. Similarly, it is different to speak of liberation in conjunction with time. Some say that in order to know self-mastery in samadhi, liberation is spoken of as not being in conjunction with time. Even so, it is different because of having attained the ultimate limit of meditation. Therefore, the continuum is not made to closely stabilize by afflictions, because it is liberated without being in conjunction with time, and is of a nature that is completely undiminished. If that is the case, it is to show that mentioning the Arhat is meaningless. While giving up life and blessing, this should be examined. In the sutras, it widely appears that the Blessed One blessed the activities of life, and so on. Different names necessitate different meanings. The question is: What is the difference between these? Because it appears that the activities of life are blessed, it is understood that the activities of life are the result of karma that is currently arising. To say that the activities of life are relinquished means that what was previously taken is relinquished, and it should be known that the result of previous karma is the activity of life. There is no need to give up or bless a single moment, because it does not obtain the meaning of benefiting others and the characteristic of the Dharma remaining. There is no need to give up or bless a single moment of life, because it does not obtain the meaning of benefiting others and the characteristic of the Dharma remaining. Moreover, it is unreasonable to train the mind of giving up and blessing when a single moment of life remains. The phrase "remaining between other times" shows that life is only a moment. The state of remaining is dwelling. Among the many activities that appear extensively, this appropriately prevents the life force, which is the characteristic of activity that is not associated with the five aggregates such as form and the four aggregates such as feeling. Therefore, it is stated that the substance of life is not unique. If it is not so, that is, if the life force is a substance.
