The mind of continuity is both its support and the immediately preceding condition. Regarding the statement that "the dharma realm mind arising is immediately preceding," that is only its homogeneous immediately preceding condition, not the support. Furthermore, why are the objects of the five consciousnesses only present, and not past? Because the support is present, the object is established. Otherwise, the mind consciousness would not have objects of the three times, but would become only having past objects. Moreover, because it enters the object together with the support, and the supports also cannot enter into the meaning of being hidden. The present forms, etc., are the objects, the past and future are not objects. Others think that the objects of some consciousnesses such as eye consciousness can also be past, because only the previously produced cause can produce the result, not the simultaneously produced; similarly, the present cause can only be past, not simultaneously produced. Because the continuity inherits its own lineage, there is no fault that all pasts are objects. If it is said that a non-existent cause is unreasonable, that is not correct, because the past and present causes are acknowledged. Then, when the present and future occur, when consciousness is present, why should it be said to be past? If that is the case, then it should be said that the future and present are objects, and the past should not be said to be an object, because the past is not an object. It is unreasonable to say that the object of another time is due to the cause of another time. If the nature of the cause does not appear, and consciousness arises, that is called the objective condition. Otherwise, what is the difference from all objective conditions? If its aspect does not arise, consciousness cannot grasp the object of another time. Then, what makes one realize that for the present object, the present consciousness will arise? Because of the present cause, the present consciousness will produce its aspect, which is not a reasonable statement. It is also unreasonable to determine the object of consciousness from its aspect. Therefore, the present

The state of being young, its nature abides in the essence of the objective condition that desires to generate consciousness. When that consciousness arises, it is said that the past is the object because it ceases together with the object. Saying that the past is the object does not mean that the past object possesses the path of eye consciousness, but it is sufficient to arise from the order. The main text should be composed, and again, consciousness depends on both, which is said to be a fault. How can it be known that it depends on both? It is established in the scriptures that eye consciousness and so on arise. Some scriptures say that eye consciousness arises from relying on the eye and form, and so on, up to the point where mind consciousness arises from relying on mind and phenomena. Experience is like knowing the real, eye consciousness and so on do not arise from the absence of eyes and so on and forms and so on, and even though forms and so on are near, they do not arise in the blind and so on because of the absence of eyes and so on. If it is said that it is not said to arise from attention? It is said that the attention arising from the form and appearance of those things changes from being close to abiding, not from the complete accomplishment of the eye. Likewise, the eye consciousness arising from them will also arise. Why are only two placed close together? Because attention arises from the mind and depends on the mind, and does not become the basis of the mind, it is placed close together. Because those things change, it is the cause of change. Thus it is said and so on. The transformation of those things is that those things have been transformed. Those things will transform, thus connecting the words. Because of following benefit and harm, and clarity and obscurity. Benefit and harm depend on conditions, and the nature of clarity and obscurity is the nature of the eye. The word 'following' is connected with each one from the reason of following benefit to the reason of following obscurity. The consciousnesses of the eye and so on are from the gate of sequentially arising happiness and arising suffering.
