When asked, "What is this?" the answer is, "It is the cause of feather growth." Therefore, it should be known that there is no other way of contact other than the cause of feather growth. According to some views, the growth of feathers is only because of the worship of forms other than the sky realm; while other views hold that it is the worship of all forms. If atoms touch each other, then they will become parts; if they have no parts, then like mind and mental factors, there will be no contact. If they do not touch, then the statement that "the three touch the object" is contradictory, because not touching is not touching. Here, it refers to the atoms of real objects, not the aggregated atoms, because the latter have parts. The so-called "mixture" means that the environment becomes undifferentiated, because then, the entity of its parts seems to be non-existent. Therefore, they do not touch in all aspects. If they only touch in one aspect, then if some touch and some do not, they will become parts. Furthermore, if those atoms touch each other in one aspect, then because of their similarity, they will touch other atoms, thus causing the substances to mix. If they remain in their original position, then what difference does it make to touch in one aspect? If they do not touch, then these atoms cannot become parts of each other. The characteristic of contact is that sound arises from obstructive things. The question is: "Then, how can..." etc. If it is not in all aspects, nor in one aspect, then how can sound arise since they do not touch each other? It is precisely for this reason that sound arises, that is, it is precisely because atoms do not touch each other that sound arises. Just like hands and hands, it appears widely, I think this is because of similarity. Therefore, obstructive things will disappear, and if there is no obstruction, then how can sound arise from unobstructed things? It is unreasonable at the time of combination, so like the crumb-eater, sound arises from combination.

One should not commit to accepting it either. So, what should it be? It belongs to the names or suffixes that are only found in the scriptures. Some of the great elements consider that when other specific beings born from the elements produce sound, they obtain the name "contact." Why not analyze the sound holder that arises with it here? What is meant by "how is it accumulated"? Like clods of earth and bricks, etc., since their minute particles do not adhere to each other, if struck, how could they not disintegrate like a pile of sand? Because it is held by the wind element. If the wind element is seen as the cause of separation for the struck objects, then how is it? This is not definite, because some of the wind element that arises from the karma of sentient beings participates in destruction, like the wind at the end of an eon. Some participate in holding, like the wind at the time of formation. This is also the same as before. Because of ignorance, the wind element cannot hold. Committing to accepting touch itself is also a fault related to that unobstructed thing itself and its parts. It actually holds without touching, just as the body's senses give rise to body consciousness only without touching. If the minute particles do not touch each other, then how does the extensive saying "gathering" occur? Because there is no mutual contact, gathering is unreasonable. The saying "there is no space at all in between them" is like the form of appearance, etc. The word "also" is a synonym for "another." The saying "there is no fault" refers to the fault of saying "is it touched by the whole or touched by a part?" Others say that now saying "how to gather and touch" and so on, that itself is without fault. The saying "if it is done that way" refers to when the aggregates touch each other. The saying "what has the cause of touch" means that touch is the cause, and that is what has the cause of touch. The saying "a certain touch arises" refers to a certain other touch. The saying "without the cause of touch" refers to what does not have touch as the cause, thus analyzing the words, mi-
