The so-called "purity is not without impurity, but becomes pure through purity" means that it is necessary to grasp the purification of the defiled mind itself. In short, there are five types of views: unspecified, afflicted, defiled wholesome mind, and the distinction between learners and non-learners. Among them, from the category of the unspecified, the eye faculty is a view, but the ear faculty and so on, and all unspecified that are not obscured by ignorance are not. From the category of afflictions, wisdom other than those five views is not a view, that is, it arises together with desire, anger, pride, unmixed ignorance, and doubt. From the category of learners, there is no wisdom that is not a view. From the category of non-learners, the wisdom of knowing cessation and non-arising is not a view. From the category of defiled wholesome, only those that are associated with the consciousness of mind are. For the time being, some of the imputed defiled wholesome are not views, some are manifested by the collection of consciousness, become non-indicative intentions, and are the defiled wholesome that tend to the end of death. However, why is it that worldly views, although not different from the defiled wholesome themselves, are only those that are associated with the consciousness of mind, and not those that are associated with the five consciousnesses? Because there is such a saying: "Wisdom born with the five consciousnesses, is not a view because it has no definite understanding." It means that it is a view when distinguishing, because it is entering into definite thinking. Definite distinction refers to taking the definite thinking of the object as a guide, and it has a definite guiding effect, so the wisdom that arises together with the five consciousnesses is not like that, this is a broad statement. Precisely because of this, the so-called wisdom of affliction means that, just as because of entering into definite thinking, the wisdom associated with eye consciousness and so on is not a distinction, nor is it a view, so other wisdom of affliction and non-affliction is not thought about.

Since it is not thinking because of entering, it is not seeing. This has already been explained in detail before. If wisdom is seeing because it is thinking, then how is it seeing if there is no eye and thinking itself? Regarding the phrase "by the meaning of seeing form," the eye is called seeing by the meaning of seeing form, but it is not necessarily the meaning of thinking, while wisdom must be the meaning of intention, not the meaning of seeing, so there is no contradiction that both are seeing themselves. Regarding what is said to be knowing and seeing, it is not by the meaning of seeing or thinking, but by manifestly entering into its meaning itself. Because it is said that the eye sees forms, seeing form is seeing form, therefore the eye is called seeing by the meaning of seeing form. Also because it is connected with other consciousnesses, this means that it is also because other consciousnesses manifest. Similarly, for those such as the ear that do not rely on their own consciousness, also because hearing and so on are promised, if all objects become targets at the same time, then is there a fault? It is not the seeing of all eyes, because it is promised that only some eyes see. What is called being connected with consciousness is that consciousness exists. Since consciousnesses do not exist in the senses at the same time, there will also be no fault that all objects become targets at the same time. If this is the case, then the widely occurring "if this is the case, then" etc., since only consciousness seems to have the ability to see, will it become only consciousness itself seeing? To this, Acharya Sanghasena says: The eye is able to see because it accumulates the basis of consciousness, the four great elements that arise together with consciousness, but it is not said that the consciousness that relies on it sees, because if there is a cause for the target, it will become the target, therefore the cause of the target itself is the target, this is a reasonable statement. This is also not unestablished, therefore nothing has been said about the basis of consciousness transforming into the difference of self. In the sutra it says
