At that time, as long as the body and mind are not harmed, one should abide in a state without manifest activity. To say that, if different times of consciousness enter simultaneously, or if one ox is at home and one ox is in the field, it would be excessive to say these words when wanting to plow the field. The so-called "two incompatible dharmas" is also established. Like this, if any one is missing, it will not arise; if both are present, it can arise, then these two are the conditions for its arising. For example, if either the eye or the ear is missing, the eye consciousness of things like a vase will not arise; if both are present, it can arise, just as it is the condition for its arising. Similarly, if either shamatha or vipashyana is missing, the mind consciousness will not clearly manifest the nature of reality; if both are present, it can arise, which is the nature of the reason. Thus it is said, in the Noble Collection of Dharmas, "Through samadhi, one can truly understand the truth as it is." Samadhi is meditation, there is no other. It is also said in the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning, "From one-pointedness of mind, one can truly understand the truth as it is." Enough said. Some say that whatever does not accord with the meaning but an image of meaning appears, that is conceptual. For example, the consciousness that arises dependent on smoke, appearing as a person behind, that is conceptual. The consciousness of ordinary beings, without according with the nature of reality, yet the image of the nature of reality appears, so it is conceptual, this is the nature of the reason. The nature of reality must be something that is neither existent nor non-existent, and has not appeared in any form. They say that by meditating on the general characteristic in this way, conceptual thoughts related to speech will arise, then that is meditating on the nature of reality. Or like the consciousness of a young child, the yogi meditating on the nature of reality will become unable to express it. Therefore, it is neither meditating on the conceptual, nor is it non-conceptual consciousness because the own characteristics of the nature of reality cannot be seen. They say this. To this I say: Then, since conceptual and non-conceptual consciousness pervade all, other consciousnesses will not arise, because if what is pervasive disappears, then

It is also a concluding remark. Therefore, a yogi will not attain special merits, because how can there be cause and effect from something that does not exist? It is like a rabbit's horn, etc. If it is said that not admitting non-existence is a fault, then, if it exists, is it with or without distinction? If it is said that one does not want to say, then, if in order to show that state, one stretches out the foot of "not doing," generating faith through fame, it is beautiful for those with faith. This is how to refute it. Or one does not want to say whether it is related to distinction or without distinction. If it is said that knowledge is like an arrow feather stretched out, like a high flag, then it is said like this: It is not with distinction, nor without distinction. Do not cultivate closely with form. Knowledge that is higher than before, truly and certainly exists. Having shown this, it is temporarily set aside. Some say that in the state of vipassanā, the so-called clarity is clarity to the objectless. To this it is answered: Then, this will become the same as the knowledge of śamatha. If it is said that the object of śamatha can be either existent or non-existent, while vipassanā does not cling to either of these two, so it is different, then, this is clinging to the object, just like being named non-distinction. Some say that from the beginning up to the peak of worldly dharma, one cultivates non-distinction, while from the peak of worldly dharma downwards, one cultivates the wisdom of individual analysis. Just as it is said in the Noble Jewel Heap Sutra: Light Guardian, just as two pieces of wood are rubbed together to produce fire, and then the wood itself is burned, so from correct individual analysis, a flame of knowing as it is arises, just like the fire of rubbing wood, burns the wood of distinction. In the Noble Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra it is also said: Relying completely on mind-only, one does not distinguish external objects. Thus, the object of suchness, also remove from mind-only. Having transcended from mind-only, transcend from the absence of appearance. The yogi who abides in the absence of appearance, he will see the Great Vehicle. The place of peaceful spontaneous accomplishment, purified by pure aspirations. Supreme wisdom, selflessness, will see the absence of appearance. Thus it is said. Therefore, those individually.

It is the gradual cultivation of discriminating wisdom, not the cultivation of non-discrimination at all. Now, some people say that they cultivate non-discrimination, which is learning from the darkness of the Lokayata, not the gradual way of entering into cultivation. If you ask, in the Dharani Commentary, it says that non-discrimination is spoken of in terms of the stages of cultivation, then that is for the first bhumi and above. Or it refers to cutting off the hope of elaboration, but for beginners, it is impossible for the mind to abide in non-discrimination at all. As it is said, in the final part of the Stages of Meditation, it says that when a yogi enters into samadhi, if there is consciousness of mind, then undoubtedly it is necessary to focus on something, because the consciousness of ordinary beings does not suddenly become without an object. If it does not exist, then how can one realize the nature of all dharmas at that time? With what antidote will one abandon afflictions? The mind of an ordinary person who has not attained the four dhyanas cannot cease. Thus it is said. If you say that, then I say, for the time being, it is true that you should first cultivate the wisdom of discriminating, as the Tathagata said. Acharya Kamalashila also said: Therefore, those who wish to generate non-discriminating wisdom should first cultivate vipashyana with the characteristics of correct discrimination, by which they will completely abandon all signs. Thus it is said. However, there are still some things to be practiced. The term 'discrimination' has two reasons for the use of words: one is the wisdom of thinking that, after achieving calm abiding, realizes and seeks the selflessness of persons and dharmas; the second is the wisdom of thinking that is non-discriminating, non-distinguishing, non-seeking, and non-seeking; and the third is non-discriminating, non-distinguishing, non-seeking, unchangeable, and unmoving. Here, it is from the perspective of the wisdom of thinking. In the Noble King of Samadhi Sutra, it is said: If you discriminate the selflessness of dharmas, if you constantly discriminate, if you cultivate, that itself is the cause of obtaining the fruit of nirvana, no other cause can pacify. Thus it is said. In the Noble Sutra Unraveling of Intent, it is said: That body is extremely pliant, and the mind is extremely pli
