It is like this, the Sugata said, in the Prajnaparamita, for those whose minds are distracted, it is rare to even generate worldly samadhi, let alone supramundane samadhi? Therefore, from the very beginning of generating the mind, one should not be distracted. Thus it is said. Some say that they meditate on the direct perception, to them it is said, the direct perception of the senses is object-oriented, so it is not. The direct perception of the mind is established simultaneously with it, so it is impossible. Self-awareness is merely the opposite of matter, so it is impossible. The direct perception of yoga, the worldly realm is impossible. If it is supramundane, then it would be a fallacy to become an Arya, thus refuting. Some say, I have an inconceivable secret instruction, from which the wisdom that abides is the wisdom of a non-ordinary person, a clear and lucid wisdom without interruption, and that is like that which is meditated upon. To them it is said, what is the purpose of doing the inconceivable? If it is said to be the mind, or the nature of the mind, that is in the mantra, the sutra or the Prajnaparamita does not show that, it only establishes that all dharmas are without inherent existence, but it does not establish it as the nature of one's own mind. If that is the case, there is no refutation of the mantra, but that is also said in the sutra, all dharmas are without object and without mind, in the Sutra of the Display of the Jewel Heap, the Tathagata said to Manjushri: Manjushri, the inconceivable realm, what is the so-called inconceivable realm? Manjushri replied: Bhagavan, the so-called inconceivable realm is the realm without mind, not the liberation of mind, not the negation of mind, not the differentiation by thought, but, Bhagavan, mind itself is the inconceivable realm. Why is that? Because there is no mind on the mind, mind itself is not mind, so mind is empty of inherent existence. Since mind is as it is, the absence of mind is mind. Bhagavan, this is the inconceivable realm.

Thus it is said, that is the source of Yogacara Madhyamaka, there is no difference. However, such an ordinary mind is an unpredicted mind, therefore, it is not the meditation of Dharmata. Some say that if one recognizes one's own Alaya Bodhicitta, which is not accumulated in the three times, unchanging, and constant, then it is called Bodhi and Dharmata, etc. This is not shown even in the profound secret mantras, like the Paramita Vehicle. This is the Tathagatagarbha, the essence of the teachings, therefore it is constant. Thus it is said. To this, it is replied: Although the Mantrayana practitioners do not refute, but in the manner of gradual guidance, in the "Holy Lankavatara Sutra" it is also said in three vehicles: As long as there is conceptualization, there is no end to the vehicle. And so on. Also, in the "Gandavyuha Sutra", fourteen vehicles are mentioned, but in the ultimate sense, it is said that there is only one vehicle, because the realm of Dharma is one. Thus it is said. In the chapter of the "Great Assembly Sutra", it says: To truly gather into one vehicle is to truly gather all vehicles into the equality of one vehicle, entering the undifferentiated realm of Dharma in the same way. Therefore, it is said that the nature of mind is primordially pure, according to the intention of Dharmata, as asked by Mahamati. This is also accepted by the Yogacara Madhyamaka, there is no difference. If one says: We realize the unconditioned, do the Madhyamikas also think that is the path? In the "Holy Manjushri Emanation Sutra" it is said: Whoever contemplates on the unconditioned, whoever contemplates on Nirvana, both are the realm of demons, thus the wise ones say. If one says: Is the nature of phenomena itself like that? This is admitting the secret sayings of the Tirthika Vedas. They say: From the secret nectar drops it is taught: Vijnaptimatrata is always pure, thus the Buddha always goes, without taking or abandoning, Brahma abides without sorrow. Thus it appears. Therefore, it is not understanding the intention of the Tathagata.
