Furthermore, there are faults of meaningless words, and faults of reasons that are not commonly established, or reasons that appear to be contradictory. Because, on the dharma to be established, the reason that is separate from one and many in the ultimate sense has already settled, and on the similar example, the conventional one and many have settled. If it is okay no matter what, as it says in the Ornament of the Middle Way: "These things spoken of by self and others, in reality are neither one nor many, because they are separate from the nature of one and many, like images." Therefore, the word "reality" is necessary for the ultimate sense, therefore it is negating non-existence. If you say that, then in response to that: there are also reasons that do not include the word "ultimate," such as entering into that very reality, it says: "All these that dwell outside and inside, in reality are without nature, the very nature of one and many, because they are separate, like those images." Whatever is separate from one and many, that is without nature in the ultimate sense, like an image. All these things that dwell outside and inside are also without nature because they are separate from the nature of one and many. It is said that even if there is the word "reality," it is connected to the word that negates non-existence. As it says in the commentary of the Ornament of the Middle Way itself: "This syllogism is like this: those that are not the nature of one and many, those are without nature in the ultimate sense, like images. The things spoken of by self and others are also not the nature of one and many, this is called not seeing the pervasive. Because it pervades the very nature of oneness and the very nature of many." It is said like this. Like this, whatever has not established a connection through direct perception and inference, cannot be established as "certain," for example, when establishing the connection between fire and smoke, one would not want to establish it as establishing the certainty of the ultimate truth. Establishing a connection in the ultimate sense, which is the basis of the debate, is also not seeing the pervasive because it has not been established through direct perception and inference. Whatever connection does not match the dharma and nature to be established, since it has been established, it is not necessary for understanding the property of the subject.

For example, after determining that something is made and impermanent, there is no need to understand the fire behind it. Similarly, establishing a connection as only related to conventional truth, which is the basis of the argument, is also not observable because the characteristics and nature of the subject are inconsistent. Therefore, particularities are not desired to be established as either ultimate truth or conventional truth. If it is said that there is nothing that is not included in the two truths, and therefore the connection cannot be established, that is correct. However, it must be admitted that the generalities of permanent phenomena, such as dissimilar kinds, and the abiding in their own nature, such as similar kinds. For example, abiding in one and many, and being separate from one and many that are different from their own nature, and being without self-nature, both apply to conventional truth and ultimate truth, and are commonly applicable. If you ask whether to establish a connection with that generality, the answer is no. If you ask how to establish it, say this: those that are not the nature of one and many, when you say this, you are stating the reason generally. Saying that there is no self-nature in the ultimate sense means that after the general reason, the general thing to be established also follows. Because worldly people who are blinded by ignorance have views, meditations, and experiences of what is the true conventional, which is the nature of the characteristic, they cling to this nature of being able to function as ultimate. From the perspective of philosophical tenets, what is established through reasoning is called ultimate, thus showing that both of these must follow. For example, like an image. Saying this shows that the generality enters into the particular conventional truth. Therefore, the image itself is not one and many of the aspect of being able to function, thus showing that it is not the nature of the aspect of being able to function. The opponent recognizes this through a single illusion of non-conceptual direct perception. Thus, in order to show that after the example with generality and particularity is established, there is a reason on the subject to be established. Therefore, it is said, "The things spoken of by myself and others are also," which indicates that the subject, unlike the image, has the ability to function, which is what worldly people consider to be true.
