similar, because it is mixed with different aspects, how could it be merely the universal aspect? This is a refutation. The so-called "nature of being free from all elaborations" is itself an elaboration. If it is said like that, why doesn't the noble Vimalakīrti declare it? Therefore, in the ultimate truth, it is impossible for there to be a single ultimate truth established by consciousness. Then how should it be? Therefore, it is said like this: The Blessed One (Buddha) who truly understands how things exist. In the Sutra of the Meeting of the Noble Father and Son, it is said like this: The Tathagata has comprehended the two, conventional truth or ultimate truth, and what is to be understood is also limited to these two, conventional truth and ultimate truth. The prediction that the Tathagata's intention will be understood as it is, the noble Nagarjuna said: In the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way, the Buddhas teach the Dharma, truly relying on the two truths, namely the worldly conventional truth, and the truth of the ultimate meaning. It is said like that, at the time of determination, things are also established, and the wise also understand it in this way, therefore it is established as two. At the time of determination, it is neither established nor not established, and it is not allowed to commit in any way. This is shown. Some say that the nature of the Dharma and the Dharmic are the same, therefore, just as the Dharmic sense consciousness directly sees it, the nature of the Dharma is also directly seen, therefore, in the Nyāyabindu, it is said: The self-nature of the meaning is one, the self-nature is directly perceived, what is the examination of the measurers? What other part is there that has not been seen? It is said like that. They say like that. To this it is replied: Then, it would follow that all childish ordinary beings would be able to see the truth. Or, because the definitive knowledge has not arisen, it is like not seeing. Therefore, in the Ornament of the Middle Way, it is also said: If it is said that emptiness is the absence of all fabricated aspects of things, then, emptiness is the very nature obscured by the fabricated aspects. Even while grasping the self-nature of things, children will not be certain, therefore, although grasped, because it is possible to establish nominal terms, it is like not grasping, therefore this is not something that can become an object of observation.

Therefore, this is to show that it is harmed by direct perception and so on. If someone says, "It is said like that," then, do not establish the name that eye consciousness sees the nature of reality. As it is said, in the "Distinction of Two Truths," it says, "Because designation is necessarily preceded." It is said like that. If someone says, "Then, this contradicts the intention of the teacher Dharmakīrti," it is not contradictory, because the teacher spoke with impermanence in mind, because it is a real thing, so there is no contradiction. Emptiness is not a real thing, so it is impossible to see it with root consciousness direct perception. In the "Distinction of Two Truths," it says, "How it appears, only this is, the conventional, the other is a different entity." It is said like that. Or, because it is spoken of as non-different, so there is no contradiction here either. To this, some say that the meaning of non-different and one is no different, so that, because of directly seeing the nature of reality, it will become directly seeing all of suchness. And, like the realm of reality, the subject of dharma will also become true, and will become not of the nature of all afflictions. And, like the subject of dharma, the realm of reality will also become conditioned and of the nature of all afflictions. If someone says, "In all these, because one is not promised, there is no fault," then, the selflessness of merely conditioned things will not become the nature of ultimate reality, and those who are bound by the characteristics of conditioned things will not be overcome by yogis, because it is a different entity, and because it is clinging to other realms of reality. Therefore, like a conch and white, because it is impossible to say one and different, so it is a relationship that cannot be said to be that and different. If someone says, "It is said like that," in response to that, saying that that and different will produce faults, not saying the two, and establishing a relationship with one that is established is not without fault, because the fault of one and different is reasonable for the dharma to become a real thing. The nature of reality, free from elaboration, being one with the subject of dharma, there is no fault, and there is no non-fault. Different entities have faults, and there is no non-fault. The unspeakable thing, to establish a relationship with the subject of dharma, if any one is truly established, then promise a third relationship.
