It should be placed in a cemetery or near a cemetery, or in a temple, etc., that has not been properly prepared, without complete cushions and coverings. For those who indulge in hatred, their bedding should be placed in a place with abundant trees and water, a level and beautiful foundation, or in a beautifully decorated temple, equipped with complete cushions and bedding. For those who indulge in ignorance, any place will do. For those who indulge in desire, the villages where they live should provide plenty of coarse food, the cities should be simple, and filled with male inhabitants. For those who indulge in hatred, the cities where they live should provide abundant food, the cities should be beautiful, and filled with inhabitants who perform virtuous deeds. For those who indulge in ignorance, the cities where they live can be anywhere, but should be places lacking in wise people. Furthermore, there are four types of indulgence in desire: attachment to touch, attachment to nature, attachment to color, and attachment to intimacy. Among them, attachment to touch refers to attachment to smooth touch, so one should contemplate white bones. Attachment to nature refers to attachment to the original state of the body, such as women, so one should contemplate swelling, etc. Those who are attached to color should contemplate various colors. Those who are attached to intimacy should contemplate the state of women's bodies being abandoned in the cemetery, losing consciousness, and remaining still like wood. The complete decomposition of the inner and outer bodies of oneself and women is the antidote to all four types of desire. Therefore, this sutra mainly discusses this point. Among them, the body of a woman is the external body, and one's own body is the internal body. Alternatively, hair, body hair, nails, teeth, dust, and dirt, and skin are the external body. What is described from muscles and bones to excrement is the internal body. Among them, what grows from the head is hair. What grows from the body parts such as the armpits and mouth is body hair. By analyzing one's own and others' bodies in this way, and getting used to this analysis, one can eliminate desire. This is called right mindfulness. In order to show the correct samadhi, the correct sam

It is said, "What are the faculties?" and so on. Thus, focusing the mind on virtuous dharmas is correct samadhi. The four dhyanas of the form realm are also characterized by focusing the mind on virtuous dharmas, so they are called correct samadhi. The first dhyana has five branches: initial application, sustained application, joy, bliss, and one-pointedness of mind. The second dhyana has four branches: inner tranquility, bliss, and one-pointedness of mind. The third dhyana has five branches: equanimity, mindfulness, awareness, bliss, and one-pointedness of mind. The fourth dhyana has four branches: equanimity, pure joy, mindfulness, pure joy, a feeling that is neither pleasure nor pain, and one-pointedness of mind. Therefore, these four dhyanas have eighteen branches. The eighteen branches are five branches for the first dhyana, five branches for the third dhyana, which makes ten, and four branches for the second dhyana, and four branches for the fourth dhyana, which makes eight, so there are eighteen. These four dhyanas will be explained in detail later, when we discuss dhyana. I will not explain them here because it would be a small need and a large task. After explaining the four noble truths, the twenty-two faculties were taught, and it was decided to explain them as they were taught. It is said, "What are the twenty-two faculties?" and so on. What is the need to teach the faculties? It is said that by teaching the faculties, one can understand the dharmas of the world and beyond, with and without outflows, arising and not arising, common and uncommon. If one understands these dharmas, one will abandon attachment to self and what belongs to self. If one abandons attachment, one will be free from the suffering of samsara. If there is no suffering of samsara, one will attain the bliss of nirvana. Therefore, the faculties are taught in order to abandon suffering and attain bliss. Among them, the subtle particles of the eye faculty
