Here, because it is explained from the perspective of desiring things with words, it is said, "Monks, after eating alms food," and so on. Eating alms food refers to the homes of faithful householders. After eating alms food, and again because of attachment to obtaining more, repeatedly saying, "Only from your householder's home can it be obtained, it cannot be obtained from other places," is biased begging. Speaking honestly without attachment to profit and respect is without fault, it is not biased begging. To show the intimidation of bias, it is said, "What is the intimidation of bias?" and so on. The intimidation of bias is also of three types: with the intention of gain, to slander the almsgiving benefactor; also, to beg based on relationships; and to slander those who do not give completely. Slandering the almsgiving benefactor with the intention of gain means that being attached to profit and respect, when the almsgiving benefactor does not give robes and other gains, one says, "He will become poor, and there will be various kinds of discomfort." Also, begging based on relationships means that if one does not give in the case of my benefactor, one says, "Not only are you the only benefactor, but there are others," thereby intimidating to beg from others. Slandering those who do not give completely means, "Those who do not give alms will surely be eaten by demons and fall into the lower realms, and you also do not give alms, so you will definitely fall into the lower realms," this is intimidation. Here, to show that it is explained with emphasis on slandering those who do not give completely, it is said, "Monks, from which house did you not obtain alms food?" and so on. If the words of the sutra are not clearly explained, then the two types of intimidation of bias should also be included here. To show the desire for gain with gain, it is said, "What is pursuing with gain?" and so on. That is also of three types: with the intention of gain, showing that one obtains more than others; showing that the almsgiving benefactor is very wealthy; and showing that one obtains material possessions. Showing that one obtains more than others with the intention of gain means that because of attachment to obtaining robes and so on, one buys good robes and so on with one's own wealth, and then says to one's benefactor, "This robe

Saying "A donor like this can be found elsewhere" is to prove acquisition through acquisition. Showing a great donor means that if one controls a great female donor who likes great generosity, one says that she is not such a donor. Showing the acquisition of material things means that when one goes to the house of any donor, if they give food and Dharma robes, one says what material things other donors also give in their houses. Here, proving acquisition through acquisition, among the three ways, is explained because it is done with the intention of showing others that they can acquire great wealth through acquisition. Monks, it is said, "With my wealth," and so on. In short, it means buying Dharma robes and so on with one's own wealth and sitting in front of the donor, the layperson, and saying that other donors have given me such Dharma robes and so on. That is also because they give Dharma robes and so on out of shame. Proving acquisition through acquisition, the two ways should also be included here. The five wrong livelihoods of a monk are also divided into three types: the actions of the body, the actions of speech, and the actions of both body and speech. Among these, hypocrisy is the action of the body. Flattery is the action of speech. Hinting and threatening, and proving acquisition through acquisition, are those that possess the actions of both body and speech. Therefore, having abandoned the five wrong livelihoods, the monks will become correct livelihoods. In order to show what the wrong livelihood of a layperson is, it is said, "What is the wrong livelihood of a layperson," and so on. Saying layperson is only symbolic, and it also includes female laypersons and those who keep the time vows. In the case of the monks above, the monk is only symbolic, and it also includes nuns, male and female novices, and female novices. The so-called selling sentient beings means not selling people, which is prohibited for female laypersons, but it is not that it is not allowed to sell sentient beings such as horses. The so-called squeezing grain and rapeseed without checking means squeezing grain and rapeseed without checking for insects in grain and rapeseed that have been left for a long time.
