Taking what is not given is not because the mother took it, but because of coveting the property of others, it is stealing. Thinking, 'This is stealing.' To show the second limb, it is said 'of others,' meaning: it is not my property, but the property of other sentient beings. To show the third limb, it is said 'property,' meaning: grains and treasures, etc., possessed by other sentient beings. Showing the fourth limb is: performing the action, that is, moving from one's own place, entering the road, from digging houses to touching property with hands. To show the fifth limb, it is said 'doing it oneself,' meaning: moving the property of others from its place, making it one's own exclusive property, and when the limbs are complete, it becomes taking what is not given. Thus, if the ornaments of the Bhagavan are stolen, from whom is it stolen since there is no owner? It is said: it is stolen from the Buddha, because all of these were completely held and accepted by the Bhagavan at the time of Nirvana. If a monk steals the ownerless property of peace, from whom is it stolen? It is said: if the actions of supplication and request are performed, then it is stolen from the sons of the Buddha belonging to the Sangha. If these actions are not performed, then it is stolen from all the sons of the Buddha. From whom is stealing from a stupa stolen? That is also stolen from the Tathagata himself. If an ownerless treasure is given, from whom is it stolen? It is from the owner of the place, that is, the king. 'Mother and father,' etc., refers to the property of parents, etc., even if taken out of affection, it is not taking what is not given if it is property that they would not be unhappy about. For them, if it is upper and lower garments, etc., that are being worn on the body, and robbing like eating food, because they would be unhappy, it is taking what is not given. To show sexual misconduct, it is said 'what is sexual misconduct,' etc., connected to 'committing adultery with the wife of another.' In short, having sexual relations with women possessed by others, by force or theft, is called sexual misconduct, which can be divided into five types. What are the five? They are

Going where one should not go with a husband, going where one should not go with a limb, going where one should not go with a race, going where one should not go with a place, and going where one should not go with a time. Going where one should not go with a husband also has five aspects: protected by a husband, protected by a king, protected by parents, protected by dharma, and protected by the public. Among these, being protected by a husband means having been taken as a wife and made one's own spouse. Being protected by a king means a widow whose husband has died, or someone without protection, who is bound by the king's law and not allowed to engage in sexual activity. Being protected by parents means a daughter who has not been given to another and is not allowed to associate with other men, and therefore remains under the protection of her parents. Being protected by dharma means a bhikshuni or anyone who has taken vows. Being protected by the public means being bound by the laws of many people and not allowed to indulge in desire. If one engages in sexual activity with someone protected by a husband, it is considered perverse sexual conduct out of desire for someone other than one's husband. If one engages in sexual activity with someone protected by a king, it is considered stealing from the king and engaging in impure conduct, and therefore they cannot tolerate it. If the king himself engages in sexual activity with her, in what way is it impure conduct? For example, if the king engages in sexual activity with his queen when she has not received the time of dharma, then the king himself is considered to have the fault of impure conduct, and this matter should be viewed similarly. If one engages in impure conduct with a bhikshuni protected by dharma, in what way is it impure conduct? It is considered stealing from the king and engaging in impure conduct, and therefore they cannot tolerate it. If the king himself engages in sexual activity with her, in what way is it impure conduct? It is similar to engaging in sexual activity with the king's queen when she has received the time of dharma, and one will incur faults. If one engages in sexual activity with someone protected by the public, in what way is it impure conduct? It is considered stealing from many people and engaging in impure conduct. Going where one should not go with a limb means engaging in sexual activity in one's own mouth and impure places, and even with one's own wife, engaging in sexual activity in places that are not meant for it, such as the mouth and anus. Going where one should not go with a race means engaging in sexual activity with those who are connected by lineage, such as mothers and sisters. Going where one should not go with a place means in all
