Those who practice similarly listen extensively to the essence of discipline, and they also do not forget how they listened. They also restore what has been lost according to the Dharma. In essence, three characteristics of discipline are shown here: the three characteristics are the characteristic of not being destroyed, the characteristic of self-nature, and the characteristic of merit in relation to others and oneself. Among them, the characteristic of not being destroyed is indicated by saying "having discipline." The characteristic of self-nature is indicated by saying "bound by the vows of individual liberation." The characteristic of merit in relation to others is indicated by saying "behavior and the place of behavior are perfect." If the behavior is beautiful and one does not go to places where one should not go, then others who have not generated faith will generate faith, and those who have generated faith will increase their faith, and bad reputations will not be spread everywhere. Fearing even the slightest fault and studying the places that have been correctly taken, these two indicate the merit of discipline in relation to oneself. If even the smallest precepts are not abandoned, then one will obtain the fruit of the Arhat that has not been obtained, and the merits that have not been realized, and become one who is capable of realization. "Dedicating to becoming a Buddha" means that through the roots of virtue done through generosity and discipline, may I become a Buddha through this cause, or with the word "etc.," dedicating to becoming an Arhat or a Stream-enterer. Not dedicating to becoming Indra or Brahma with the words "May I become a Universal Monarch," etc., is the correct way of thinking. Having abandoned the obscurations of afflictions, like a person waking from sleep, having awakened from the sleep of ignorance, and having directly realized the Dharmas such as aggregates and elements, becoming like a lotus flower blooming, this is the Buddha. The so-called Universal Monarch is one who rules over beings by the power of the precious wheel and holds the royal power. There are also four types of Universal Monarch: the golden wheel king, the silver wheel king, the copper wheel king, and the iron wheel king. Among them, the golden wheel king

The one with the golden wheel is the most excellent. The one with the silver wheel is close to the most excellent. The one with the copper wheel is intermediate. The one with the iron wheel is the lowest. Among them, the wheel of the one with the golden wheel reigns over the four continents. The one with the silver wheel reigns over three continents. The one with the copper wheel reigns over two continents. The one with the iron wheel reigns over one continent. The way of reigning is that for those who have the golden wheel, the minor kings of the cities themselves come to greet them and come forward to say: 'These beings, gods and people, are rich and prosperous, and also have many people. We are also gods, so please, gods, grant us rule.' Those who have the silver wheel, they themselves go forth on foot, and the minor kings submit. Those who have the copper wheel, they go to the minor kings of the cities, and they are persuaded and submit by means of words. Those who have the iron wheel, they go to them, and they fight each other with weapons, and then they submit. In order to show the true speech, he spoke of what is the true speech, and so on. Speaking falsely means that the meaning of what should be said is placed in another thought and another word is spoken, that is, the person who should speak understands the meaning and then it is a lie. Therefore, in the Abhidharmakosha, it is said: 'Words shown in a different thought, if spoken to one who knows the meaning, are a lie.' Harsh speech means that with a mind of hatred, in order to make others unhappy, speaking words that mention faults such as lineage and clan, if others understand, it is harsh speech. Slander means that with a mind of attachment and hatred, with afflictions, in order to separate others, carrying tales back and forth, if others understand the meaning, it is slander. Therefore, in the Abhidharmakosha it is also said: 'Slander, with an afflicted mind, separates with words.' Frivolous speech means that with a mind of attachment and other afflictions, speaking flattering words, songs, and the tenets of heretics, if others understand the meaning, it is frivolous speech. Therefore,
