Just as something becomes straight when inserted, similarly, turning the mind away from dullness and excitement, etc., and holding it straight is right concentration. Alternatively, 'right' refers to equality, and 'concentration' refers to placement; placing the mind equally is concentration, which is right concentration. Therefore, in order to explain in detail the limbs of the path that were mentioned briefly in the sutra, the Buddha taught, 'Monks, what is right view?' etc. Why was it taught briefly and then extensively? There are two types of discipline: knowing through hints and knowing through elaboration. For those who know through hints, it is like this: right view, etc., are mentioned briefly. Because those who know through elaboration cannot understand the meaning if it is not explained extensively. The Tathagata does not conceal the teacher of the Dharma and possesses great compassion, therefore he taught the monks extensively, saying, 'Monks, what is right view?' etc. Among them, there are three types of right view: the right view of learners, the right view of non-learners, and the worldly right view. For learners and non-learners, the view that arises during meditative absorption is called the right view of learners and non-learners. The view that arises after emerging from meditative absorption is accompanied by realization, therefore it is called the worldly right view. Alternatively, virtuous individuals who believe in the existence of future lives and do not slander karma and its results have worldly right view. Here, it should be understood that worldly right view is being taught. Among them, believing in the existence of six dharmas is right view, namely, believing in the existence of a basis for entering, the seed of its cause, a foundation, the merit of generosity, the antidote of generosity, ethics, and meditation, the opposing side, and believing that these three are the opposing side and the result of the antidote, and believing in liberation from entering, there are six in total. Among them, believing that this world exists and the next world exists shows the belief in the existence of a basis for entering, namely, life.

The support for entering from one to another is this entering support and the next world. This life also considers that there are five aggregates with karma and afflictions, and it is believed that due to the cause of karma and afflictions in this life, aggregates will also be taken in future lives. This is what is called seeing that this world exists and the next world exists. The so-called "mother exists and father exists" shows that due to its causes, the seed and the four existences exist. The establishment of the seed from which the five aggregates arise is the father. The support for the seed is the mother. Seeing that both of these exist is what is called "mother exists and father exists." The so-called "giving exists and fire offering exists" shows the view that giving and offering to deities exist. When giving things, believing that there are sentient beings who receive them, and when performing fire offerings, believing that there are deities who receive the fire offerings, this is what is called "giving exists and fire offering exists." The so-called "desire and non-desire" shows the view that there are incompatible aspects of giving, discipline, and meditation. The nature of giving, discipline, and meditation, becoming an antidote to virtue, is what is called "desire." Its incompatible aspects, stinginess and bad character, and a distracted mind, becoming the side of non-virtue, is what is called "non-desire." Alternatively, the virtuous action of the nature of merit and immovability is desire. The non-virtuous action of the nature of non-merit is non-desire. Believing that these exist is what is called "believing that desire and non-desire exist." The so-called "the ripening of the results of well-done and badly-done actions exists," these three show the view that the results of incompatible aspects and antidotes exist. Giving will lead to great wealth, keeping discipline will lead to rebirth in higher realms, cultivating the four immeasurables will lead to the attainment of Nirvana, and stinginess will lead to poverty, breaking discipline will lead to falling into lower realms, not cultivating the four immeasurables will not lead to liberation, so believing, or performing meritorious and immovable actions will lead to rebirth in good destinies, performing non-meritorious actions will lead to rebirth in the three lower realms, this is what is called believing that actions are well-done.
