Those who move on land and those who move in the sky. Among them, those who move in water are the dragon kings and crocodiles, etc. Those who move on land are livestock, etc. Those who move in the sky are birds, etc. The lifespan and power of these animals are not entirely the same. For example, dragon kings like Sāgara (ས་འཛིན་, Sāgara, meaning ocean), Nanda (དགའ་བོ་, Nanda, meaning joy), and Upananda (ཉེ་དགའ་, Upananda, meaning near joy) can live for an intermediate kalpa and possess the power to hold up Mount Meru. The so-called Asuras are born from the karmic results of virtuous deeds motivated by pride or hatred. Their abode is also located above this great earth, and their lifespan is said to be equal to that of the gods of the desire realm. Humans are those who dwell in the four continents, born from thoughts of merit and non-merit, hence they are called "humans" in the scriptures. Alternatively, because they are born from the sage Manu, they are also called "Manuja," meaning born of strength. Heretics call them "lords of beings," and worldly people call them "humans." The four continents are East Videha, West Godānīya, North Kuru, and South Jambudvīpa. Among them, East Videha is shaped like a half-moon, with each of its three sides measuring two thousand yojanas. The fourth side measures three hundred and fifty yojanas. There is a city called Videha, hence the continent is also named East Videha. West Godānīya is shaped like a full moon, with a circular circumference of eight thousand five hundred yojanas. People there trade with cattle, hence the continent is also named West Godānīya. North Kuru is shaped like a square, with four equal sides, each measuring two thousand yojanas, totaling eight thousand yojanas. It is said that people there make a loud noise when they die, hence the continent is also named North Kuru. Jambudvīpa is shaped like a cart, wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. Each side measures two thousand yojanas, and the narrow side has
