Furthermore, knowing how many functions there are in the root of words is to know each definitive word correctly. To make all beings understand with one word, and to thoroughly differentiate with one thing, even if one speaks to the end of the kalpa, it cannot be exhausted, which is to know each unimpeded eloquence correctly. In reality, to know without end and without obstruction both what is to be shown and the method of showing is called individual perfect knowledge. Among these, what is to be shown is also twofold: the place and the nature of the place. Among these, the place is the Dharma, and the nature of the place is the meaning. There are two methods of showing: unimpeded eloquence and unimpeded wisdom. Among these, knowing each definitive word correctly is unimpeded wisdom, which means that it is shown by these two. After showing the four individual perfect knowledges, the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha are declared, and in order to explain as it is declared, it is said, "What are the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha?" and so on. These eighteen qualities are only possessed by the Tathagata, and are not possessed by other noble ones such as Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, therefore they are not shared in common, so they are called the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. The establishment of the meaning of these eighteen unshared qualities is as follows: When an Arhat Bhikshu, a destroyer of outflows, enters a city for alms, sometimes he walks together with a fierce elephant, sometimes he walks together with a horse, an elephant, a fierce bull, and a fierce dog, sometimes he drops his foot in dense thorns, sometimes he drops his foot where poisonous snakes dwell, enters places where he should not enter, such as women's places, and persuades with unreasonable words, goes to a solitary place, goes from the main road to the wrong path, and walks together with thieves, lions, tigers, or bears, etc. Such situations are called the mistakes of a noble Arhat. The Tathagata never has such situations at all times and places, so it is called the Tathagata without mistakes. Furthermore, the noble A

An Arhat seeks the path to a solitary place but does not see the path, or enters an empty house and makes a sound saying, "What is this?" and shouts loudly, or drools a lot, or makes a horse-like laugh due to the fault of habit. This is the noise of the Arhats. The Tathagata does not have such a state at all, therefore it is called no noise. The Tathagata does not have amnesia, and even things that have been done for a long time and words that have been spoken for a long time will not be forgotten, therefore it is called no loss of memory. Also, when an Arhat enters Samadhi, it is equanimity, and when he does not enter Samadhi, it is not equanimity. The Tathagatas always keep their minds in equanimity, and do not have such a state at all, therefore it is called no mind that does not abide in equanimity. Therefore, it is said in the sutras: "Whether walking, standing, looking, or sitting, he abides in equanimity." Furthermore, an Arhat alone, when disgusted with the aggregates, will generate a perception of disgust, and when completely abandoning the remaining Nirvana, will generate a perception of peace. The Tathagatas do not have different perceptions of the aggregates and Nirvana, therefore it is called no various perceptions, because it abides in the characteristic of extreme equanimity. Furthermore, an Arhat does not distinguish whether sentient beings have good fortune or not, and also maintains equanimity towards the affairs of sentient beings. The Tathagatas observe whether there is good fortune or not, and then maintain equanimity towards those without good fortune, and do not maintain equanimity without observing, and do not have such a state at all, therefore it is called no undifferentiated equanimity. Furthermore, an Arhat, starting from abandoning the obscuration called "Arhat," before obtaining the wisdom of purification of the obscuration of knowledge, will completely degenerate, that is, degenerate faith, degenerate diligence, degenerate mindfulness, degenerate wisdom, degenerate liberation, and degenerate the wisdom of liberation, all six of which are not there.
