Because nothing is impossible, the cause of it is explained. Having achieved stability in the past through unwavering devotion to the chosen deity, it means that in the past, when bodhisattvas practiced, they did not abandon the chosen deity for the virtuous deeds they had vowed to perform, and they diligently and respectfully carried them out, just as achieving a firm foundation. Having achieved not frightening other sentient beings in the past, it means achieving by not creating fear and dread for sentient beings who are weak and feeble. Having achieved protection and rescue through the Dharma, it means achieving by refraining from non-virtuous actions such as not killing in the past, and by protecting. Alternatively, protecting, rescuing, and concealing through the Dharma means achieving by helping those who practice the Dharma when they are in danger and in uncomfortable circumstances, such as during listening, contemplation, and meditation. Among these, helping during listening is protection. Helping during contemplation is rescue. Helping during meditation is concealment. Having achieved not separating retinues in the past, it means achieving by not enticing away the servants and retinues of others. Having achieved giving various gifts in the past, it means achieving by giving Dharma and bedding, etc. Having achieved upholding all the Buddha's teachings in the past, it means achieving by listening to all the excellent Dharmas in the past, then contemplating, and then meditating. Having achieved being able to keep secrets and abstaining from sexual activity in the past, it means protecting by not revealing secrets that should not be shown to unsuitable vessels, and protecting by not proclaiming the secrets of others to others, and achieving by abstaining from impure conduct. Having achieved practicing virtuous Dharma in the past, it means achieving by practicing discipline, concentration, and wisdom. Having achieved by causing other beings to be free from fear, it means achieving by rescuing sentient beings threatened by fear from kings and thieves, etc. Having achieved by making others happy to do things in the past, it means achieving by creating joy for those who do things and giving help. Having achieved completely uniting with the roots of virtue in the past, it means whatever virtuous deeds are undertaken
