Because it is the place where the body prostrates and the palms are joined, it is called suitable for joining palms, and it corresponds to it. Because it is the place where the five limbs prostrate to the ground to serve, it is suitable for prostration. The so-called unsurpassed field of merit refers to where the roots of virtue such as giving are cultivated, thereby abandoning all afflictions and attaining the nature of liberation, becoming a field. Therefore, there is no more supreme field than this, so it is the unsurpassed field of merit. Offering gifts such as charity there, or offering sustenance, or offering implements such as Dharma robes, increases continuously every moment and every day, so it is called suitable as a place of giving in the world. Because it possesses the precepts that the noble ones cherish and the merits of the precepts, it is said that those precepts are not broken, etc. The so-called "any" means that those noble Sanghas not only possess the merits mentioned above, but also possess the merits that will appear below, such as the precepts not being broken. This is its meaning. Among them, there are three types of precepts: the branch of precepts, the branch of asceticism, and the branch of mindfulness. Because none of these three are deficient, it is that the precepts are not broken. Among them, not committing the root downfall of naturally sinful acts is the branch of precepts. Shaving the head and wearing the kasaya robe is the branch of asceticism. Not drinking alcohol is called the branch of mindfulness. Constantly guarding, constantly offering, because there is no abandonment of giving, it is inseparable. Because it is not mixed with bad habits, it is non-degrading. Because greed and hatred that lead to the breaking of precepts do not arise, it is unmixed. Because only the pure white aspect arises and it is the cause of Nirvana, it is immaculate. Because it possesses the antidote to the breaking of precepts and is fully upheld, it is autonomous. The antidote to the breaking of precepts is the power of wisdom and the power of meditation. Because repeatedly practicing these two, one will not become a slave to sinful and unwholesome dharmas, nor will one become an unwholesome frien

Because it cannot be transferred by other factors, it is called independent. Because it is not mixed with the defilements of evil views and evil aspirations, it is not corrupted, that is, it is dedicated to the sole purpose of manifestation. Not mixed with evil views means not mixed with the defilements of views on the aggregates, etc. Not mixed with evil aspirations means not mixed with aspirations such as "May this discipline become like this." The term "extremely complete" means perfectly complete and ultimate. How is it ultimate? Because it is not destroyed, not broken, and not diminished, it is ultimate. The term "extremely diligent" means "well accomplished." How is it well accomplished? Because it is unmixed, immaculate, independent, and uncorrupted, it is well accomplished. The term "praised by the wise" refers to discipline, because the Tathagata and noble Arhats, etc., proclaim it as possessing qualities. The term "not reproached by the wise" means that the wise have not said that this discipline has faults or defects, because it is without outflows. The term "possessing the discipline desired by the noble ones" means that it is the discipline desired by the noble ones, so it is the desired discipline. Because this discipline is characterized by virtue and being without outflows, it is repeatedly manifested for the sake of Nirvana, therefore, it is the discipline desired by the noble ones. In reality, these indicate the doctor, the medicine, the attendant, and the implements. Among them, the Tathagata is the doctor who eliminates afflictions, the Dharma is the medicine that eliminates afflictions, the Sangha is the attendant who eliminates afflictions, and the discipline pleasing to the noble ones is the implement for abandoning afflictions. To conclude the instruction on the four limbs of entering the stream, it is said, "These are the four limbs of entering the stream." After instructing on the four limbs of entering the stream, the ten powers are instructed, and it is said that they are explained as they were instructed, saying, "Monks, what are the ten powers of the Tathagata?" etc.
