The meaning is that with the power of Samadhi, one abandons distraction from the forgotten Dharma and constantly focuses with one-pointedness. In order to show the power of wisdom, it is said, "What is the power of wisdom?" etc. To what Dharma does one apply one-pointedness with the power of Samadhi? It is to constantly abide with one-pointedness with the power of Samadhi on the virtuous Dharma that is not forgotten by the power of mindfulness. Seeing the individual characteristics of those Dharmas with the power of wisdom is to understand them individually. Seeing the general characteristics is to manifestly know those Dharmas. The five powers are also the object, nature, friend, meditation, and the fruit of meditation, and are established in five aspects. The object of the five powers is the four noble truths, because even at the time of the powers, they are focused on these four. The nature is the essence of faith, diligence, mindfulness, Samadhi, and wisdom. The friend is the mind and other mental events that are associated with that Dharma. Meditation is to meditate in the aspect of believing in the four truths with the power of faith. With the power of diligence, one meditates on the diligence that opposes the truths. With mindfulness, one meditates on not forgetting the truths. With Samadhi, one meditates on not being distracted from the truths. With wisdom, one meditates on understanding the self and general characteristics. The fruit is to realize the four truths. In the context of strength, whatever is true of the object, etc., is the same, and the distinction is only made by not being overcome by opposing factors. In order to conclude the teaching of the five powers, it is said, "Monks, these are the powers." After the five powers, the five strengths are shown. Wishing to explain as it is shown, it is said, "Monks, what are the five strengths?" etc. These five powers themselves are established as five strengths because they are indestructible and immovable. The strength of faith is also such that those whose faith is indestructible, whether it is the Mara of the gods in this world, or Brahma, or other Dharma and

Or, since those who are completely entangled by afflictions cannot prevent faith, it is the power of faith. The four dharmas, such as diligence, that arise from the cause of manifesting the power of faith are also called power, because they possess power and destroy the power of the four maras who have become the helpers of the maras, and thus manifest the cessation of outflows, so it is called power. Alternatively, in the time of the faculties, the unfavorable aspects of the five faculties, such as lack of faith, laziness, impaired memory, distraction, and lack of awareness, arise and appear occasionally. However, when the unfavorable aspects do not arise occasionally, it is called the power that arises unilaterally from some antidote. Among them, unwavering faith in the Three Jewels is the power of faith. Constantly meditating on the aspects of enlightenment is the power of diligence. Never forgetting the Dharma that has been heard and contemplated is the power of mindfulness. Not being controlled by sinking and agitation is the power of samadhi. Knowing without doubt about any Dharma is the power of wisdom. Among them, the power of faith abandons attachment to one's own body, which obstructs the attainment of the path of seeing. The power of diligence abandons attachment to one's own possessions. The power of mindfulness abandons the mind that understands the previously done and the path of degradation. The power of samadhi suppresses the force of the arising of gross afflictions such as sinking and agitation. The power of wisdom completely eradicates all habitual tendencies. After explaining the five powers, the seven branches of enlightenment are explained. In order to explain as it was explained, it was said, "Monks, what are the seven branches of enlightenment?" and so on. Among them, enlightenment is the wisdom that is attained after understanding the four truths and ceases to arise. Enlightenment is also divided into three types according to the difference of individuals: the enlightenment of the hearers and the perfect enlightenment. The Dharma that becomes a help to attain enlightenment, or that becomes its basis, is the branch of enlightenment, for example, the body.
