Thinking of attaining the tenth bhumi and below. The so-called "thought of bondage" refers to those who dwell on the eighth bhumi, who achieve spontaneously without effort or exertion, hence called "bondage," thinking, "I must obtain it." The so-called "thought of co-emergence" refers to the time of the eighth bhumi when wisdom also transforms into the nature of non-discrimination, hence called "co-emergence," thinking, "I must obtain it." What are the four maras? They are the skandha mara, klesha mara, deva-putra mara, and mrtyu mara. They are called the four maras because they sever the root of virtue, which is the cause of unsurpassed bodhi, as if severing life itself. If this skandha, born of karma and kleshas, is formed, it inevitably hinders virtuous deeds due to causes such as sickness, old age, and decay, hence it is called the skandha mara. When attachment, hatred, and so on are prevalent, they hinder virtuous deeds, hence it is called the klesha mara. The sons of the gods in the desire realm hinder virtuous deeds out of jealousy, which is the deva-putra mara. The disintegration of the activities of life, separation from life, and cessation of the continuity of virtuous deeds is called the mrtyu mara. Regarding the order of names of the abodes of the gods in the desire realm, the lower heavens are those who dwell on the ground, near trees, near stones, and so on. The heavens in space are those that move in the sky, such as the sun, moon, and stars. The heavens under the jurisdiction of the Four Great Kings are: in the north of the four faces of Mount Sumeru is Kubera, in the east is Dhrtarastra, in the south is Virudhaka, and in the west is Virupaksa, and their retinues all belong to this category. The Trayastrimsa heaven refers to the top of Mount Sumeru, where the king of gods has eight deities in each of the four directions, totaling thirty-two. Generally speaking, there is one great king, making it thirty-three. The Heaven of No Strife refers to the gods of the Trayastrimsa heaven who fight with the asuras, while these gods are free from fighting with the asuras, and do not fight, hence they are called the Heaven of No Strife. The Tushita Heaven refers to being more superior than the lower realms, enjoying greater pleasures, and on top of ease and comfort, Maitreya enjoys teaching the Dharma, hence it is called the Tushita Heaven. The Nirmanarati Heaven refers to

In order to transform and enjoy whatever enjoyments one desires at will. The Heaven of Others' Emanations, however, transforms and enjoys whatever enjoyments others have transformed at will. Among the four dhyanas, the names of the first dhyana, which are located above the Realm of Form, are: the Heaven of Brahma's Retinue, the Heaven of Brahma's Ministers, and the Heaven of Brahma's Multitude. Among these, those born as relatives and attendants of the upper Great Brahma are called the Heaven of Brahma's Retinue. Towards the Great Brahma, they serve morning and evening, and are born close like relatives, standing in front to speak, so they are also called Brahma's Close Attendants. They are also called Brahma's Ministers. Among the lower two Brahmas, they are distinguished by their excellent bodies, long lives, and great roots of virtue and power, so they are called the Heaven of Brahma's Multitude. They are also called Great Brahma. The names of the second dhyana are: the Heaven of Limited Light, the Heaven of Immeasurable Light, and the Heaven of Luminous Light. The deities born in this place have less bodily splendor and radiance than the previous two, so it is the Heaven of Limited Light. The deities born in this place have a bodily light that cannot be measured, so it is called the Heaven of Immeasurable Light. The deities born in this place illuminate even the abodes of other deities, so it is called the Heaven of Luminous Light. The names of the third dhyana are: the Heaven of Limited Virtue, the Heaven of Immeasurable Virtue, and the Heaven of Universal Virtue. The bliss of meditation of the deities born in this place is called virtue, and it is less blissful than the previous two, so it is called the Heaven of Limited Virtue. The bliss of meditation born in this place cannot be measured, so it is called the Heaven of Immeasurable Virtue. The deities born in this place have completely perfected all the bliss of worldly meditation, so it is called the Heaven of Universal Virtue. Beyond that, the four dhyanas have abandoned bliss, because they abide in equanimity. Among the eight places in the fourth dhyana, the names of the three ordinary beings are: the Heaven of No Clouds, the Heaven of Increasing Merit, and the Heaven of Great Fruit. Among these, the deities born in this place are as clear as the sky without clouds, without being obstructed or obscured by the palaces of other deities. These deities arise and perish together with their own palaces, so they are called the Heaven of No Clouds. The deities born in this place,
