Just as it is called "bottle," the self (Sanskrit: Ātman, Romanized Sanskrit: Ātman, literal meaning: self) exists independently. Just as it is said that the bottle can control the form aggregate, the same applies to other aggregates. Saying "I exist in the form aggregate," "I exist in the feeling aggregate," "I exist in the perception aggregate," "I exist in the mental formation aggregate," "I exist in the consciousness aggregate," is like fruit placed on a plate, saying that the permanent self exists in the form aggregate. Similarly, the following aggregates also apply similarly. What are the eighteen dream omens that appear in the degenerate age? An elephant's trunk is stuck in a window; a well cannot satisfy a thirsty person; exchanging flour and pearls together; an elephant calf is driven out from a golden place; the flowers and fruits of a monastery are enjoyed by someone other than the owner; people who should not fight are divided into factions, observing the eight precepts and fighting; a piece of cloth is divided, arguing about good and bad; flowers urge the owner to rot quickly; seeing the gap between three dwarfs; selling sandalwood as charcoal; an old man standing naked; a horse eating both its head and rear; a large dog being more fierce than a small dog; a cow that has just given birth wanting to suckle the calf; being young and strong in the morning but becoming old in the afternoon; a lion's corpse being eaten by its own maggots; many monkeys gathering together and choosing one monkey as king; one monkey seeing impurity on another monkey." These are the five omens seen in the dream of King Kṛkī, predicting human behavior and future religion. Dreaming of an elephant's trunk being stuck in a window indicates that it is difficult for renunciants to emerge from their families. If they are able to give up and abandon many material things, then the situation of renunciants is like being attached to a begging bowl, Dharma robes, or a dwelling. For example, an elephant entering a window, its body being too large to enter, but its thin trunk being unable to enter and getting stuck. A well cannot satisfy a thirsty person, indicating that renunciants cannot come before the teacher as they would to listen to the Dharma.

If a teacher comes to a listener to teach the Dharma, but the listener runs away and cannot listen, this is a sign (of the degenerate age). For example, it is like a thirsty person should go to a well to drink water, but now it is the thirsty person who runs away, and the water in the well chases after them. Exchanging flour and pearls equally is a sign of teaching the Dharma in order to obtain flour. An elephant being driven away from the place of Be'u Ser (a place name) is a sign of a virtuous person being driven away from their residence by a morally corrupt person. The flowers and fruits of a monastery being enjoyed by someone other than the owner is a sign of the Sangha's property being enjoyed by householders. People who should not fight are divided into factions, observing the eight precepts and fighting, this is a sign that the teachings of the Tathagata Shakyamuni will be destroyed by fighting. Dividing a piece of cloth and distinguishing between good and bad, this is because the Buddha's Dharma and Vinaya should be pure and flawless, but later, due to different views, different treatises are held, leading to the division of views into many. For example, a piece of cloth originally has no good or bad, but it is seen as good or bad. A flower urging itself to be picked is like a man should pursue a woman, but now they do not; instead, the woman pursues the man and takes the initiative to seduce him. For example, originally flowers should be picked, but now the flower urges, saying, "Pick me!" Seeing the space between three jars as empty means that there is no one who is not arrogant. If you become poor, even relatives will get tired of you, abandon you, and then become close to others. For example, if you set up three jars, and cook meat and oil in the top and bottom jars, and cook water in the middle jar, then the spoons of meat and oil will pour into each other, while the spoons in the jar of boiling water will not pour into each other. Selling sandalwood as firewood means that some Dharma teachers teach the Dharma in order to gain fame and fortune and respect, rather than out of compassion, to benefit all those who want to seek the Dharma, and do not seek the treasure of merit. For example, originally sandalwood should be sold for a good price, but now it is not sold at a high price, but is sold as firewood. An old man with a bald head means that when the true Dharma declines, it will first decline from the central regions, and then spread to the remote regions, this is a sign of decline. For example, an old man's hair will first fall out from the top of his head. Horse
