The wisdom that focuses solely on one goal is the wisdom that arises from meditation. What are the three trainings? They are higher discipline, higher mind, and higher wisdom. For those who regard practice as supreme and cultivation as sacred, and who possess the eye of wisdom, the goal of their actions is the three trainings. Ordinary people are superior to non-Buddhists, non-Buddhists are superior to Shravakas, Shravakas are superior to Pratyekabuddhas, and Pratyekabuddhas are superior to the Mahayana. The Shravaka's Bhikshus, Shramaneras, and the six types of male and female lay practitioners, as well as the intermediate precepts, are the seven types of precepts. These, along with the three vows of the Bodhisattva, namely the vow to refrain from evil, the vow to accumulate virtue, and the vow to benefit sentient beings, are higher discipline. The Mahayana's heroic progress samadhi, as well as the Shravaka's contemplation of impurity, the four Dhyanas, and the formless attainments, are higher mind. The Mahayana understands that both phenomena and individuals are without self, while the Shravakas understand that individuals are without self, which is higher wisdom. What are the three faculties? They are the faculty of "I will know what is not yet known," the faculty of knowledge, and the faculty of complete knowledge. At the time of the path of seeing, the five faculties of faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom, as well as the four faculties of pleasure, joy, equanimity, and the faculty of mind, these nine faculties, after abandoning what is to be abandoned by seeing, what was previously unknown is now known, which is called the faculty of "I will know what is not yet known." At the time of abandoning what is to be abandoned by meditation, the nine faculties clearly distinguish between unfavorable and opposing factors, which is called the faculty of knowledge. At the time of the Arhat state, the nine faculties that have abandoned all the afflictions of seeing and meditation are called the faculty of complete knowledge. What are the three afflictions? They are the affliction of affliction, the affliction of karma, and the affliction of life. One's own self is an affliction, and what is born from that cause also becomes an affliction, therefore there are three afflictions.

Furthermore, among the twelve links of dependent origination, ignorance, craving, and grasping are the pervasively afflicting afflictions. Action and existence are the pervasively afflicting actions. Consciousness, name and form, the six sense sources, contact, feeling, birth, and aging and death are the pervasively afflicting life, which are the cause and effect of various sufferings in cyclic existence. What are the three types of conventional truth? The conventional of the conventional, the non-veridical conventional, and the veridical conventional. Among these, illusions, mirages, and optical illusions, which are natures that cannot perform their respective functions, are the conventional of the conventional. Those that arise from perversely examining and cultivating the phenomena of internal and external dependent origination are the non-veridical conventional. Those causes and effects that arise from correctly examining internal and external dependent origination and cultivating the ten virtues, etc., are the veridical conventional. What are the three aspects of the bodhisattva's conventional qualities: word, meaning, and essence? They are faith, application, and realization. The three terms "bodhi," "being," and "great being" are applied in sequence. Abiding in the four parts of ascertainment is called "bodhi," and is associated with faith. Abiding from the first to the tenth bhumi is called "bodhisattva," and is associated with application. Abiding in the eleventh bhumi, the state of Buddhahood, is called "great being," and is associated with realization. Alternatively, teaching sentient beings, establishing them in bodhi, and the term "bodhisattva" mean that teaching sentient beings the unsurpassed path is bodhi, and is associated with teaching sentient beings. Establishing them on the path and causing them to attain the result is bodhisattva, and is associated with establishing them in bodhi. Oneself also attains great bodhi, therefore one is a great being, associated with the being in bodhi, thus showing the nature of possessing qualities. What are the three realms? The desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. Among these, the eight hells, and the two, animals and hungry ghosts, totaling ten,
