When the Buddha was previously practicing as a Bodhisattva, he had already considered all the activities he would undertake. By acting in this way, things would naturally be accomplished. Therefore, all the activities undertaken after becoming a Buddha should not be regarded as impromptu, like those of a Shravaka. Whatever he does, he acts after wisdom has already known it, so it is called wisdom going before and wisdom following after. All verbal actions are wisdom going before and wisdom following after, because wisdom first determines what will be beneficial to sentient beings, and then issues speech that is in accordance with the minds of sentient beings and possesses sixty branches of perfection. All mental actions are wisdom going before and wisdom following after, which refers to the activities of the mind. Having abandoned all conceptualizations and elaborations before wisdom, and then following the ultimate truth and placing the mind in the realm of Dharma, it is therefore called wisdom following after. Seeing the wisdom that is unattached and unobstructed in the past time refers to knowing without error all the events that occurred in the past countless eons, and the causes and effects of the good and bad deeds that were done. Seeing the wisdom that is unattached and unobstructed in the future time, and seeing the wisdom that is unattached and unobstructed in the present time, both are applied similarly to the above. Knowing and understanding clearly what will happen in the future, and what is happening in all ten directions right now, is therefore called seeing wisdom. What are the four fruits of a Shramana? They are the fruit of Stream-enterer, the fruit of Once-returner, the fruit of Non-returner, and the fruit of Arhat. By means of forbearance and the seeing of the sixteen wisdoms, abandoning the eighty-eight afflictions to be abandoned is called obtaining the fruit of Stream-enterer. The four afflictions of the desire realm that are to be abandoned by cultivation are summarized into one and then divided into nine grades, and using nine wisdoms as antidotes to gradually abandon them, abandoning the six lower grades is called obtaining the fruit of Once-returner. Those nine grades of afflictions gradually...

Cessation is called the fruit of non-return. In the realms of form and formlessness, the three defilements to be abandoned through meditation, totaling six, can also be grouped into one category. That is, the four dhyanas and the four formless absorptions, totaling eight, can also be divided into nine. By gradually abandoning, in the peak of existence, with defilements that are small and even smaller, and wisdom that is great and even greater, like a vajra, when defilements are abandoned, it is called the fruit of Arhat. What are the three wisdoms? They are self-enlightenment, knowledge of the aspects of the path, and knowledge of all aspects. In the past, due to hearing the sacred Dharma, now one can realize the Dharma of dependent origination, without relying on a virtuous friend, one can realize the selflessness of persons, and attain the Arhat fruit, this is called self-enlightenment. After generating the unsurpassed Bodhicitta, entering into the selflessness of both phenomena and persons, gradually abandoning the two obscurations through the ten bhumis, this is called knowledge of the aspects of the path. Gradually surpassing the ten bhumis, in the state of Buddhahood, the four wisdoms and three kayas are spontaneously accomplished, this is called knowledge of all aspects. What are the Three Jewels? They are the Buddha Jewel, the Dharma Jewel, and the Sangha Jewel. Awakening from the sleep of ignorance, attaining the omniscient wisdom, like a lotus blossoming, the accumulation of merit and wisdom increases, this is the Buddha Jewel, because its qualities are supreme and rare in the world. The Dharma includes the Dharma of teaching, the Dharma of practice, and the Dharma of fruition. Among them, the twelve divisions of scripture are the Dharma of teaching. The perfections and other factors of enlightenment are the Dharma of practice. Nirvana with remainder and Nirvana without remainder are the Dharma of fruition. The Sangha includes ordinary beings, those in training, and those beyond training. Those who have taken the Bhikshu vows through four karmas are ordinary beings. From stream-enterer to Arhat, these are those in training. Arhats are beyond training, and when four or more such individuals gather together, it is called the Sangha. What are the three kayas? The Dharmakaya and
