Knowing that all entities are without inherent existence, realizing that samsara and nirvana are not two, and focusing on phenomena as mere illusions in conventional truth, one possesses great wisdom and compassion. One does not abandon samsara, nor does one take to nirvana, but practices the ten perfections for the sake of all sentient beings, accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others perfectly. In short, the ten bodhisattva grounds, together with the resultant buddha ground, are called the Great Vehicle. The Great is superior to the Hearer and Solitary Realizer vehicles by seven greatnesses. The seven greatnesses are: object, accomplishment, wisdom, diligence, means, perfect accomplishment, and great activity. Among these, the great object is the immeasurable Great Vehicle sutras such as the hundred thousand verses of the Perfection of Wisdom, the hundred thousand of the Great Jewel Heap, and the hundred thousand of the Great Collection, which are the teachings that explain the path of the bodhisattva. Great accomplishment is accomplishing all the benefits of oneself and others. Great wisdom is realizing the selflessness of persons and phenomena. Great diligence is engaging in many difficult practices for three great countless eons. Great skillful means is not abiding in samsara or great nirvana. Great perfect accomplishment is accomplishing immeasurable qualities such as the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a buddha. Great activity is accomplishing and performing all the activities of a buddha as long as samsara exists. It is also said that there are three vehicles, and it is also said that there is one vehicle. Which is true? What does it mean? It is for the sake of taming. Merely to suit the differences in faculties, and to match them with the order of faculties, it is said that there are three vehicles. The two vehicles, Hearers and Solitary Realizers, are weary of samsara and cannot bear suffering. In order to quickly pacify them, it is only a place of temporary rest, not a state of ultimate nirvana. After obtaining the result, it is the body of a buddha, realizing the selflessness of all phenomena, causing them to practice the bodhisattva conduct, and causing them to accomplish

Having manifestly and completely awakened to the unsurpassed Bodhi, it ultimately converges into the Mahayana. As stated in the Lankavatara Sutra: The Shravakas who abide in the realm of the unpolluted are urged by the rays of the Tathagata, enter the Mahayana, and it is taught as the One Vehicle. And in the Lotus Sutra, it is prophesied that many Shravakas will achieve Buddhahood, and through methods such as teaching the One Vehicle, it is explained that there are not three vehicles, but ultimately it is exhausted into one. The five lineages that are combined with the five families in other sutras and explain the three vehicles, should also be determined in this way by each lineage, and it is not that they are permanently existent, but rather they are merely previously divided in consideration of the time of activity. Some sutras state that even if many Tathagatas urge the Shravakas who are solely inclined towards peace, they do not have the fortune to attain Buddhahood. This refers to those who have gained certainty in the Four Noble Truths and cannot be changed until they have attained the fruit of Arhatship. Some sutras say that Arhats are like seeds that have been destroyed. Just as a peach pit, even if polished, will not turn into precious vaidurya, it is said that Shravakas cannot achieve Buddhahood. This is to discourage entering the Lesser Vehicle, urging one to enter the Great Vehicle from the beginning, and because one becomes involved in small matters. If this view is not accepted, then it contradicts the many sutras such as the Noble Samadhiraja Sutra, which state that all beings possess the essence of the Tathagata, and that all beings can become Buddhas, and that there is no one who is not a vessel. Therefore, the two vehicles also ultimately converge into the Great Vehicle, and ultimately it is manifested to converge into the One Vehicle. The four wisdoms are: the Mirror-like Wisdom, the Wisdom of Equality, the Discriminating Wisdom, and the Accomplishing Wisdom. Among these, the Mirror-like Wisdom is the pure Dharmadhatu, possessing great love and great compassion, entering the Buddha's non-abiding Nirvana, and the Alaya-vijnana transformed, which is the basis for showing all kinds of forms, colors, and bodies, without forgetting anything.
