It is merely establishing a term. In reality, it is not like that, because the Bhagavan also separated and spoke of external dependent arising and internal dependent arising, so it is evident that both mind and object exist in the ultimate sense. In the sutras, it says, "The mind without an object appears as an object." This does not mean that all objects are to be negated, but rather it is said to be an antidote to counteract the mistaken conceptualizations about the impermanence of things, the aggregation of many particles, and the grasping as a whole. The Mind-Only school says that external objects such as form do not exist, but only the consciousness itself appears as such. The various statements about self that are prevalent in the world and appear in the scriptures, and the various establishments of dharmas, are transformations of consciousness. These are not established on things that actually exist, but because from beginningless time, the habitual tendencies of conceptualizing self and dharmas such as form exist in the alaya consciousness. Therefore, observing that self and dharmas appear from the alaya consciousness, conceptualizations arise, thinking that there is no object. How is it to be understood? The things that appear as a whole are aggregates of particles, and the particles that make up the whole have six directional parts. Therefore, in order to establish the particle, it is evident that there is no object, just as someone with cataracts sees tangled hair in the sky. The *Ten Bhumi Sutra* also says, "O sons of the Victorious One, these three realms are only mind." The *Dense Array Sutra* also says, "The mind has two aspects, the apprehended and the apprehender, appearing in reality. Objects such as pots and cloths do not exist at all." The *Lankavatara Sutra* says, "Even when there are no external objects, the mind appears in two aspects." And so on. Therefore, external objects do not exist, but only consciousness itself appears as such. Consciousness is dependent arising, and it is constant, so it also exists in the ultimate sense. Even at the time of transformation, there exists the non-dual wisdom that is devoid of the apprehended, the apprehender, and karma, completely and truly accomplished. That is how they explain it.

What is the nature of the schools of thought? In the past, the Madhyamaka masters Acharya Nagarjuna and Aryadeva merely composed Madhyamaka treatises, without dividing them into two. After that, Acharya Asanga and Vasubandhu composed treatises that spoke only of consciousness, proving that consciousness itself, without an external object, appears as the object. They also stated that the pure consciousness, without duality, exists in the ultimate sense. Later, a Madhyamaka master named Bhava, who possessed the oral instructions of Acharya Nagarjuna's body and had attained accomplishment, refuted the consciousness-only school. The Hinayana school asserts the existence of external objects, referring to the four external elements, which are the four great elements and the forms that arise from them. These are established as existing even by direct perception. Among the five aggregates, there is also the aggregate of form. Among the elements and sense bases, there are also the sense faculties with form and their objects, which are the four great elements and what arises from them. The Bhagavan also said that the aggregates, elements, and sense bases exist. The self and ignorance, such as the four great elements, can be refuted. When they cease, one sees that aging and death also cease. By understanding the conforming and non-conforming arising of dependent origination, as well as the aspects of defilement and purification, one becomes weary of the suffering of samsara and turns away from it, thus directly turning towards purification. For the sake of attaining enlightenment and liberation from suffering alone, one practices generosity and other virtuous deeds, but with little compassion, not working for the benefit of many sentient beings. This is called the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle. The Pratyekabuddha is mentioned in the sutra prophesied by the noble Vipashyana, which says, "Seeing the profound dependent origination, one realizes that the realm of phenomena has no beginning, end, or middle." In the first Acharya's commentary, it says, "One realizes the absence of self in phenomena on the aggregate of form." Even at the time of attaining realization, one can realize the nature of phenomena oneself without relying on a teacher, and one's faculties are sharper and superior to those of the Shravakas. The Mahayana is in the ultimate sense
