Not diminishing from practicing virtue, and even if the army of demons arrives at the time of perfect enlightenment, the Tathagata subdues them by entering the Samadhi of Maitreya. As stated in the Sutra of Extensive Play and the Sutra of the Jewel Peak. "The power of excellent conduct makes it complete." Excellent conduct is as previously explained. Its power is to subdue the opposing forces with diligence and effort, transforming them into one's own nature, spontaneously accomplishing it. Completion refers to the ten powers from the aforementioned "power of miracles" to "the power of enlightenment is truly accomplished," and may the three antidotes that subdue the power of karma, the power of afflictions, and the power of demons make it complete. Now, the fourteenth general topic, the activity, is shown. From "Realms like the ocean" to "I will practice without weariness for oceans of eons," it is shown by two verses. There are eight meanings in that. First, purifying the Buddha-fields: "Realms like the ocean are completely purified." Realm is the Buddha-field. Ocean means many. Purifying them is like Sukhavati and Lotus Land, as flat as the palm of the hand, without ravines or cliffs, adorned with various precious trees, flowers, and pleasing fruits, where even the name of impurity is not heard, without bad migrations, and so on, purifying many Buddha-fields. Or, realm refers to the mind, not the stain of afflictions, but the mind moistened by love and compassion, from which the sprout of Buddhahood arises, hence it is called realm. Ocean means many. Purifying them is to show and cause to practice the path that completely removes all afflictions and even the subtlest obscurations of knowledge. "Sentient beings like the ocean are completely liberated." Sentient beings are those who are attached to samsara and arise in samsara, hence they are called sentient beings. Ocean means many. Purification is by the miraculous

Having aroused desire by showing the miracle of transformation and the miracle of all-encompassing expression, and then giving the oral instructions according to their wishes through the miracle of subsequent teaching, causing them to practice, thereby cutting the strong bonds of afflictions. The dharmas are like an ocean, able to see well. (Explanation of this sentence:) Dharma refers to the dharma that is obtained, that is, the dharma that is spoken is like an ocean, the dharma that is realized is like an ocean, and each moment can be well seen with the eye of wisdom. Able to completely see, the mindstream of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas possesses extremely pure and ultimately perfect, great compassion and power, and fearlessness, etc., countless qualities, able to well see or completely see, that is, to penetrate many dharmas of qualities with the eye of wisdom. Wisdom is like an ocean, able to realize well. (Explanation of this sentence:) Wisdom refers to the omniscient wisdom. The ocean refers to the many objects to be known, therefore the knowledge is also many. Realization refers to realizing the way in which the omniscient wisdom knows the many objects of knowledge. Conduct is like an ocean, able to purify. (Explanation of this sentence:) Conduct refers to the accumulation of merit and wisdom that benefits oneself and others, that is, the Paramitas, etc., as well as the four means of gathering, etc., and the countless deeds of Bodhisattvas arising from the sutras, and this excellent conduct itself. Able to purify means to eliminate all that is contrary to the conduct of a Bodhisattva, making it stainless. Vows are like an ocean, able to fulfill. (Explanation of this sentence:) Vow refers to the wish to ultimately and constantly benefit and bring happiness to oneself and others. The ocean refers to the many categories of wishes for happiness and goodness. Fulfillment means to make the precepts completely pure, as it is said in the sutras: The vow of one who possesses precepts is accomplished. Or it refers to obtaining the freedom of vows, as it is said in the "Holy Ten Bhumi Sutra": In any Buddha-field and at any time, one can manifest perfect enlightenment according to one's wishes, universally obtaining the freedom of vows. Bodhisattvas who possess the power of vows have special vows.
