Having eliminated all the obscurations at the time of death, may I be reborn in the Buddha-field of the Tathagata Amitabha, which is endowed with immeasurable qualities, a place of supreme bliss and joy alone, where even the name of suffering, such as the three lower realms, is not heard, where the perfections can be easily practiced, and which is filled with happiness. That place is called Sukhavati, may I go to such a pure land. The above has shown the separation from obscurations. Now, the fourth point is shown, which is to fully take on a body that is in accordance with the perfections. Having gone there, these aspirations, that is, having gone or been born in that realm of Sukhavati. These aspirations are those mentioned above. May all of them be completely manifested, may the aspirations mentioned above ultimately appear in the mind that is perfectly complete. I will completely fulfill those aspirations, and as long as the world exists, I will benefit sentient beings. This is not just appearing in the mind, but I will completely fulfill all those aspirations. May I aspire to benefit all sentient beings as long as the world of sentient beings exists. Above it says that I will do many benefits for sentient beings, here it shows the limit of the time for benefiting sentient beings, that is, until when. The remaining parts show the fifth point, obtaining prophecy and accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings. Which ones? "In that mandala of the Victorious One" refers to that mandala of the retinue of the Tathagata. "Good and joyful" means happy and blissful. "Supreme lotus" refers to the most supreme lotus of various jewels. "From the exceedingly beautiful" means from the clear and radiant net of light. "Born" means to be born. "Prophecy" means to predict, may I personally receive such a prophecy there from the Bhagavan Amitabha: In such and such a world, after so much time, a Tathagata named so and so will appear. May I obtain such a prophecy. Accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings means that after I obtain the prophecy there, I will emanate many emanations, countless clouds of emanations pervading the ten directions, going to the ten directions.

For the sake of benefiting sentient beings, for as long as samsara exists, may I, in every single instant, perform and accomplish countless benefits for sentient beings. "By the power of intelligence" means the power of wisdom. Because the nature of wisdom is great, it is without attachment and without hindrance. Now, the sixth is taught, which is the complete dedication of the roots of virtue from reciting the Practices of the Excellent. That is: Whatever slight virtue I have accumulated from making the aspirations of the Practices of the Excellent, may it, in a single instant, cause all the virtuous aspirations of beings to be fulfilled. This is to say that the aspirations of the Practices of the Excellent are as explained at the beginning. "Reciting" means reading the scriptures and reciting them orally; the rest is easy to understand. Now, the seventh is taught, which is the complete dedication that, by the merit of dedicating the Practices of the Excellent, may all sentient beings be born in the realm of the Tathagata Amitabha. That is: Whatever excellent, limitless merit is obtained from dedicating the Practices of the Excellent, may it cause beings who are drowning in the river of suffering to attain the excellent realm of Amitabha. This is to say that the roots of virtue accumulated from practicing the Practices of the All-Good, having been completely dedicated to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, the merit arising from this, having been accumulated for a long time, and having been dedicated or accomplished for the benefit of many sentient beings, is limitless, surpassing all roots of virtue such as those of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Whatever I have obtained, may it cause beings who wander in samsara, drowning in the river of suffering such as birth, old age, sickness, and death, unable to cross to the other shore, to cross from the river of suffering and be born in the realm of the Tathagata Amitabha, called the Sukhavati world, where even the name of suffering is not heard, a realm endowed with all physical and mental happiness. May all beings go there, becoming a place of going, becoming a cause of going. This is the concluding statement. Regarding the Noble Aspiration of the Practices of the Excellent, Acharya Dignāga composed a commentary, Acharya Shakya Friend composed a commentary, Buddha Kirti composed a commentary, and Ornament of Goodness composed a ṭīkā (Sanskrit, Devanagari: टीका, Sanskrit Romanization: ṭīkā, Chinese literal meaning: commentary), and
