Having protected, may my mind-stream be purified, and may I show benefit to others. May I know all the languages of the various sentient beings, and may I always teach them all in their respective languages. This is the third cause for not forgetting the mind of enlightenment. "Steadfast and diligently striving in the perfections," means: Steadfastness is to be kind to sentient beings, and it is pleasant to associate with compassion. The perfections are the ten perfections, such as generosity. To strive in this is to engage in it without being discouraged. May the mind of enlightenment never be forgotten. The mind of enlightenment refers to the unsurpassed enlightenment mentioned above, желая to benefit and bring happiness to sentient beings. Its root is compassion. This mind is also of two types: conventional bodhicitta and ultimate bodhicitta. Among them, conventional bodhicitta refers to liberating sentient beings who have not yet transcended samsara, saving sentient beings who have not been liberated from afflictions, relieving the suffering of sentient beings who are tormented by suffering, and liberating sentient beings who have not yet been completely liberated from complete extinction. May I generate the mind of wishing to enable sentient beings who have not yet attained omniscience to attain omniscience, and may I attain Buddhahood for the benefit of sentient beings. Ultimate bodhicitta refers to the equality of all phenomena being without self, the nature of emptiness being spoken of since the beginningless time when the mind has not arisen, and being realized and manifested. Therefore, striving in the perfections until enlightenment is attained, may such a mind of enlightenment and its root never be forgotten. These two verses are the fourth cause for not forgetting the mind of enlightenment. Thus, with four and a half verses, it is shown that not forgetting the mind of enlightenment is the antidote to the obstacles of the unfavorable side. May all the sins that become obstacles be completely purified. These two verses show the abandonment of the unfavorable side of bodhicitta, which obstructs bodhicitta.

The sins that cause obstacles are desire, hatred, and so on. May all of these be completely purified. The third is the blessing of non-attachment: Showing what one is not attached to, what is the blessing of non-attachment to? "From the actions of karma, afflictions, and demons." That is to say, there are three types of karma: good, bad, and immovable. Here, it refers to bad karma. Afflictions are desire and so on, those that afflict body and mind. Demons are those that obstruct the life of virtue, are incompatible with Bodhi, and pervert the Dharma. They cut off the lifeblood of those who live by the Dharma and kill, so they are demons. Their path or action is to enter places without benefit or happiness, to obstruct beneficial things in various ways, and to cause people to indulge in the pleasures of the five desires. Thus, karma, afflictions, and the actions of demons are what bind us to samsara. Therefore, in the state where sentient beings exist in the world, one must be liberated from them, and practice without being attached to them or being controlled by them. Where? "Liberated and also in the sentient beings of the world." This means in the state where sentient beings of the world, such as gods and the five realms, exist. How to bless non-attachment? "Like a lotus that is not stained by water." This is to bless to become pure. For example, just as a lotus grows from water but is not stained by water and mud, even though one is in the sentient beings of the world, may one not be stained by evil karma, afflictions, and the path of demons and act accordingly. Without expecting or being attached to the fruition of good karma and immovable karma, but only acting for the benefit of sentient beings, this is the practice of a Bodhisattva. For example: "Like the sun and moon in the sky, acting without obstruction." This is how it is blessed. For example, just as the sun and moon act for the benefit of others, and are always unobstructed in the sky, without expecting anything in return, so too, may I benefit sentient beings, do things that bring happiness, without expecting anything in return, but only acting without attachment. Now is the fourth, benefiting all sentient beings in this life and the next: "How vast are the fields and directions, that the suffering of the lower realms may be completely pacified."
