The one-pointedness of mind in whatever is seen is samadhi. What is the limb of equanimity, pure bodhi? It is said that non-conceptual wisdom is called equanimity, and those obtained after that, in all the wisdom of the world, are without defilement and abide as desired. Those seven limbs of enlightenment are also included in the side of tranquility, the side of insight, and the side of both. Among them, discriminating dharma, diligence, and joy are the side of insight. Serenity, samadhi, and equanimity are the side of tranquility. Mindfulness is the side of both, which is called all defilements. Thus, the seven limbs of enlightenment are the path of direct realization, and therefore it is called the object of gathering the power of the noble ones. Only then, with the limbs of enlightenment of the correctly initiated practice, one realizes the correct limit. At that time, the Hearer is the one who sees the four trainings, and on all dharmas, the Dharma eye is free from dust and stain, seeing the Dharma, attaining the Dharma, knowing the Dharma, realizing the Dharma, transcending hesitation, transcending doubt, not following the guidance of others, not being taken away by others in the teachings of the Teacher, obtaining fearlessness on all dharmas, entering for the sake of directly realizing the fruit of stream-entry. From obtaining sixteen moments, one abides in the fruit of stream-entry. The true and immaculate Bodhisattva, having been born into the lineage of the Tathagata, should be known to have attained the first ground and also to have experienced the benefits of that ground. The Noble Eightfold Path is taught as the aspect of the Noble Ones and the object of gathering cyclic existence, which shows the path of definitive liberation of purification. Here, the aspect of the Noble Ones, cyclic existence, and purification are the path of meditation. The object of gathering is the path of definitive liberation of purification, which is the Noble Eightfold Path. At the time of its arising, it should be known that the aspect of the Noble Ones and cyclic existence have been gathered, and the path of meditation has been obtained. Here, what is the Noble Eightfold Path? It is right view and right

Right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration. What is the order of these? In order to obtain the limbs of enlightenment, at that time one sees the four trainings, or it is the first ground of a Bodhisattva. By seeing this, the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing are already abandoned, but when the afflictions to be abandoned by meditation remain, in order to abandon those, one meditates on the third aggregate, the eightfold noble path. By this, one will be completely liberated from all obscurations, and it should be understood that one will attain up to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Furthermore, the eightfold noble path should be understood by its object, nature, companion, meditation, and the fruit of meditation. What is the object? Below that, how is the truth of the four noble truths? What is the nature? The eightfold noble path. Among these, right view is the limb that severs the path of seeing at the time of the path of meditation, that is, the worldly dharma obtained after transcending the world, in order to sever one's own conceptualization. Right thought and right speech are the limbs that make others understand, that is, by the speech accompanied by all arising, it makes others understand. Right speech, right action, and right livelihood are the three limbs that make others trust. By right speech, one truly establishes the words of gain and increase, thereby generating trust in wisdom. By right action, one does not do what should not be done, thereby generating trust in discipline. By right livelihood, one seeks robes and so forth in a measured manner, thereby generating trust in frugality of resources. Right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration are the antidotes or limbs of the unfavorable side. There are three types of unfavorable sides: the afflictions to be abandoned by meditation, the afflictions of drowsiness, and the unfavorable side due to excitement, which becomes an obstacle to the manifestation of excellent qualities.
