In order to generate the arisen (unwholesome dharmas), one should constantly rely on and cultivate wholesome dharmas, then what has not been obtained will be obtained, and what has already been obtained will also manifest. The fourth is the subsequent protection and abandonment, that is, for the wholesome dharmas that have been obtained and manifested, abandoning carelessness, and making them stable with carefulness, which is for the sake of the wholesome dharmas being able to abide, not be forgotten, and the cultivation be completed. This is a brief explanation of the four right abandonments. So, what is the summary of the main points? That is, it fully explains the superior intention and superior action of abandoning the black side and accepting the white side. Among them, the superior intention is expressed by "generating desire." The superior action is expressed by "striving, initiating diligence, holding the mind firmly, and dwelling well." What the yogi has to do is only this, that is, in order to abandon what should be abandoned, and in order to obtain what should be obtained, first, only through effort to generate joy, in order to abandon all afflictions, through diligence to initiate diligence, in order to abandon latent tendencies, through holding the mind firmly, constantly cultivate the signs of calm abiding, insight, and equanimity, and in order to abandon both all afflictions and latent tendencies, through dwelling well, truly accomplish the wholesome dharmas that are the antidote. All of these are fully explained by the four right abandonments, so this is a brief summary. Thus, these four right abandonments are the path arising from diligence, therefore, it itself is called the object of diligence, and only this, all unfavorable aspects cease, the antidote is obtained and increased, therefore, for the mind focused on the goal of suchness, the signs and evil destinies no longer appear, and the mind will not truly arise. The four legs of miraculous power are the object of the mind's abiding.

It is taught by the ground (ས་), which shows the path of fully engaging in samadhi. What are the four legs of magical power? They are the leg of magical power with the samadhi of aspiration (འདུན་པའི་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་) and the activity of abandoning; the leg of magical power with the samadhi of diligence (བརྩོན་འགྲུས་ཀྱི་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་) and the activity of abandoning; the leg of magical power with the samadhi of mind (སེམས་ཀྱི་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་) and the activity of abandoning; and the leg of magical power with the samadhi of investigation (དཔྱོད་པའི་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་) and the activity of abandoning. What is wisdom like? It is when, through these four correct abandonments, all unfavorable aspects are abandoned without exception, and antidotes are obtained and increased, so that for the mind focused on the object of suchness, signs and bad states do not appear, and inner incorrectness does not arise. After that, in order to perfect the samadhi of obtaining samadhi, it should be known to engage in the legs of magical power. Furthermore, the four legs of magical power should also be understood through the object, the nature, the companions, the meditation, and the fruit of meditation. What is the object? It is the activity of accomplishing samadhi. What is the nature? It is samadhi. What are the companions? They are aspiration, diligence, mind, investigation, and the mind and mental factors that possess similar qualities to them. What is meditation? It is familiarizing oneself with the eight activities of abandoning. What is the fruit of meditation? It is that, having thus well and completely trained in samadhi, whatever dharma one wishes to know directly, and whatever one wishes to manifest, by directing the mind towards that, the mind becomes capable of manifesting the dharmas of its respective realm. Furthermore, there are four samadhis: the samadhi of aspiration, the samadhi of diligence, the samadhi of mind, and the samadhi of investigation. What is the samadhi of aspiration? It is the samadhi that is obtained by being under the influence of aspiration. What are the samadhis of diligence, mind, and investigation? They are the samadhis that are obtained by being under the influence of diligence, mind, and investigation. Moreover, relying on respectful engagement, the mind

Whatever touches upon singleness of mind is the samadhi of desire. Whatever touches upon singleness of mind through constant practice is the samadhi of diligence. Whatever touches upon singleness of mind through previously meditating on samadhi is the samadhi of mind. Whatever touches upon singleness of mind through thoroughly distinguishing the Dharma is the samadhi of investigation. Again, when generating desire, whatever touches upon singleness of mind is the samadhi of desire. When striving, exerting diligence, and initiating diligence, whatever touches upon singleness of mind is the samadhi of diligence. When causing the mind to abide, whatever touches upon singleness of mind is the samadhi of mind. When causing the mind to hold, whatever touches upon singleness of mind is the samadhi of investigation. Then, what is the samadhi that is subject to the power of desire? Whenever one temporarily generates only desire, and after generating desire, regarding sinful, non-virtuous dharmas, from the perspective of their nature, basis, faults, and antidotes, one ascertains with certainty that only good is present, and one fixes mindfulness on a single point; similarly, regarding virtuous dharmas, also from the perspective of their nature, basis, benefits, and definite emergence, one ascertains with certainty that only good is present, and one makes mindfulness one-pointed; having done this many times, in a way that makes the entanglement of afflictions distant, one touches upon singleness of mind, but still does not completely destroy the latent tendencies of sinful, non-virtuous dharmas, that is called the samadhi that is subject to the power of desire. What is the samadhi that is subject to the power of diligence? In order not to generate what has not been generated, and to abandon what has been generated, one strives with respect to objects that are in accordance with the past, future, and present, that are in accordance with sinful, non-virtuous dharmas, and that are in accordance with the small, medium, and large entanglements of afflictions. When initiating diligence, because one examines that object with investigation, therefore the four natures of that object
