If the nature of reality cannot be understood without being shown through conventional terms, then stating that the Perfection of Wisdom grasps through conventional terms means that engaging in the method of realizing the nature of reality is not in vain. This explains the meaning of being skilled in this. Therefore, taking the explanation of this as the premise, the Bodhisattva asked, "Bhagavan, with what Perfection of Wisdom does the Bodhisattva grasp the very non-existence of the nature of all phenomena?" The statement that the Perfection of Wisdom grasps means that the non-existence of the nature of all phenomena is the very non-existence of ultimate reality. At that time, there is no aspect of grasping or being grasped. However, since there is no way to realize its meaning without relying on conventional terms, it is said here that the Perfection of Wisdom grasps through conventional terms, which shows that engaging in the method of realizing the nature of reality is not in vain. If the Perfection of Wisdom grasps the very non-existence of nature, then why does it not grasp the very existence of nature? This is because the very non-existence of nature of all phenomena is the very non-existence of ultimate reality, distinguished by the absence of self in phenomena. This is the characteristic of the complete cessation of all conventional terms. There, there is no conventional term of what is grasped and what grasps. If it is completely grasped by the Perfection of Wisdom, then the phenomenon of non-existence of nature becomes something that can always be a grasped object. In that case, the opposite of non-existence would be existence, and according to reason, why would that not be grasped as well? This is a question raised as a challenge. Now, although we do not say that non-existence grasps non-existence, in reality, the Perfection of Wisdom and the non-existence of the nature of phenomena do not have the two aspects of grasping and being grasped. Therefore, the Perfection of Wisdom is also without nature, and the nature of all phenomena is also without nature, being of one taste. Therefore, we do not say that it grasps it. If we leave it at just that, the nature of reality will not be confused and will not contradict the nature of reality. However, without relying on conventional terms, it is impossible to establish it in ultimate reality.

It is considered that this is to explain that entering the method of understanding the nature of reality through wisdom will not be in vain. However, etc., because if the letters do not show that the selflessness of all phenomena is the Prajnaparamita, then the ultimate truth of non-letters cannot be shown separately, and if it is not shown in this way, it shows that entering the method of understanding the nature of reality through wisdom is in vain. Therefore, saying "holding the selflessness of nature" is to show that it is said in order not to make the method of entering to understand the nature of reality in vain. The meaning of the words of the wise, etc., about not making the entry into the method in vain has been explained. Next, the meaning of the words of decrease and increase, etc., will be explained. The so-called being proficient in decrease and increase, here are mentioned the three: Prajnaparamita, near Prajnaparamita, and great Prajnaparamita, the former is called decrease because it is small, and the latter is called increase because it is large, and the meaning of being proficient in them is shown here. Therefore, based on the intention of showing them, ask, "Bhagavan, can it also be called Prajnaparamita?" etc. The so-called completely practicing from countless eons refers to abiding in the stage of adhimukti-carya-bhumi, being completely mature, abiding in the small, and belonging to the first countless eon. The so-called also possessing virtuous dharmas such as generosity refers to possessing virtuous dharmas such as generosity that are in accordance with the bodhipakṣa-dharmas, as well as other dharmas other than practice, immovability, and extreme purity. The so-called afflictions also arise universally refers to being afflicted by afflictions universally entangled and universally arising because of small intention and small effort. The so-called not being able to overwhelm it, but being overwhelmed by it, refers to being overwhelmed by those afflictions, and sometimes falling into the lower realms. For example, entering the small and medium adhimukti in the stage of adhimukti-carya-bhumi refers to everything except the supreme of worldly dharmas. Also, time.
