The uncertainty that exists in one side of the agreeing party, and the uncertainty that exists in one side of the disagreeing party, along with the metaphor of other kinds, all have a common uncertainty, so they are not completely pure. These will be explained below when explaining the definition of incomplete purity. The fault that does not conform to the definition of a reliable statement is that the speaker is not omniscient, and there are contradictions in the statements of the teachings he taught. This is explained by the definition of extremely pure teachings. This will also be explained below in due course. As mentioned above, these are directly revealed by revealing the meaning of the words that reveal the seven definitions of incomplete purity. Now, by explaining the words that explain the seven definitions of incomplete purity, we will explain how to combine their definitions. For the first two definitions and the metaphor of other kinds, since it would be more convenient to combine the definitions in a way that is known for its rationality from below when explaining the definition of incomplete purity, the Sugata did not give teachings here either. The third and fourth definitions are also explained here by worldly reputation and reason. When explaining the definition of incomplete purity, if the definitions are combined in a way that is known for its rationality from below, it will be inconsistent with the truth, so it will be realized that it is the definition of incomplete purity. Therefore, the worldly wise also saw the power of meaning, and at this time of explanation also gave teachings by the power of worldly reputation and reason. When explaining the definition of incomplete purity, it is explained from the perspective of combining the definitions in a way that is known for its rationality from below. In this regard, first of all, in order to explain the third definition through worldly reputation and reason, and to reveal that it is inconsistent with the truth, so it is the definition of incomplete purity, therefore, for all dharmas, whatever is distinguished by the consciousness of mind, that is the definition of all common objects, so it is said. In this regard, the third definition is the definition of all common objects, what is that?

If, according to the well-known explanations in the world, it contradicts the meaning of Suchness, then it should be recognized as a characteristic of complete impurity. If asked why, it is because all phenomena are cognized by the consciousness of mind, and therefore should be recognized. Considering dissimilar dharmas as similar, this is called the characteristic of considering everything as similar. This, according to the well-known explanations in the world, contradicts the meaning of Suchness, and therefore should be recognized as a characteristic of complete impurity. What is it like? For example, with regard to the five external objects such as form, the consciousness of mind, which is not led by the consciousness of the sense faculty with form, also considers it the same as being led by the consciousness of the sense faculty with form. Also, with regard to objects hidden and obscured by others, it is assumed that the mind directly perceives them. Also, in the past, something happened, or in the future, something will happen, through hearing, inference, or the impression of one's own direct perception of the meaning, the general characteristic of the object grasped by memory is also considered the same as the self-characteristic of the object grasped that is currently occurring, and the consciousness of mind grasps only with the three characteristics. And, with regard to characteristics similar to that, considering dissimilar dharmas as similar is called the characteristic of considering everything as similar. This, according to the well-known explanations in the world, contradicts the meaning of Suchness, and therefore should be recognized as a characteristic of complete impurity. How can it be recognized that it is a characteristic of complete impurity because it contradicts the meaning of Suchness through explanations guided by reason? Because all phenomena are cognized by the consciousness of mind, they are measurable by the consciousness of mind, just like the previously shown common uncertain fault. For example, for the object of inference, such as sound, and similar aspects, such as space, and dissimilar aspects, such as a vase, for all of these, the dharma to be established is permanence, and the dharma of the side to be established is because it is measurable.
