The meaning of knowing each of the signs of the fruit, the object of direct perception, the meaning of direct perception is encompassed by its own nature, which is the nature of direct perception, perceived directly because it is free from conceptualization and non-erroneous. Thus, the dharma of the side that establishes, from the sign of the fruit, the dwelling in virtue and non-virtue is perceived directly, and through that, the dharma to be established, from virtue and non-virtue, is not wasted, but inferred accordingly. Now, how is the third aspect of the sign connected in this case? If asked, the aspect of existence in what is to be inferred is what is taught as sentient beings' happiness and suffering. In what is to be inferred, it is the subject, sentient beings who are happy and suffering. The aspect of existence is that the subject, sentient beings who are happy and suffering, in that, the dharma to be established, from virtue and non-virtue, is not wasted, and as the dharma of the side that establishes, from the sign of the fruit, the dwelling in virtue and non-virtue is perceived directly, therefore it is called the subject. Here too, in that subject, the dharma to be established, such as non-entity, impermanence, and momentariness, and the dharma of the side that establishes, non-apprehension and the sign of nature, do not exist. Therefore, in the subject of inference, sentient beings who are happy and suffering, in that, the dharma of the side that establishes, from the sign of the fruit, the dwelling in virtue and non-virtue is perceived directly, in that, the dharma to be established, from virtue and non-virtue is not wasted, what is not perceived directly is inferred without being wasted. Thus, sentient beings who are happy and suffering, in that, the subject of the dharma to be established, from virtue and non-virtue, is established without being wasted. The dharma of the side, from the sign of the fruit, the dwelling in virtue and non-virtue is perceived directly, and that is the relationship of the nature born from what is to be established and what establishes. Therefore, it is called the reason of the fruit. The aspect of existence on the dissimilar side is an example of a similar dharma. Wherever there is direct perception of dwelling in virtue and non-virtue, there is virtue and non-virtue.

Not wasting, for example, for all internal and external formations, cultivating the absence of autonomy, which is praised by all the world, as the object of focus, and also for external objects, taking prosperity and decline, which are praised by all the world, as the object of focus, and so on. This will also be explained below when explaining the nature of cultivating analogies of one's own kind. The way to determine the absence of things contrary to the unfavorable side is an example of an unfavorable thing. This also needs to be truly explained from scriptures and other valid means. Here, since the analogy of the favorable side shows the following, the negation of the analogy of the unfavorable side is also established, so the Bhagavan did not explain it. If you want to understand, then for a cow, virtuous and non-virtuous actions reside, but cannot be directly seen, for this, virtuous and non-virtuous actions are not wasted, not non-existent. For example, it should be said like a flower in the sky. Thus, the sign of the result with the three-fold reason is the abandonment of the faults of the good cause, unestablished, contradictory, and uncertain. As before, cultivate according to the situation. What is to be inferred by what has not become manifest is called following inference, which is the application of the meaning of following inference, which is following inference. The subject is the consciousness that follows what is directly perceived, and related to this, the things that are not directly perceived, the hidden meaning that is not prevented by place, time, and nature, from which the following inference is made, as it is said. What is said to the person with the ability to establish. What has not become manifest is said to be obscured by the ability to establish. Following inference is said to be wanting to know and measure the hidden meaning. For this, with the realization of the three-fold reason, the meaning of following inference like pus and blood, as before, cultivate according to the situation. What is similar to this is the nature of the three-fold reason and self-nature for following inference, as said before, what is similar to this, and cultivate with others according to the situation. That is, for those who do not perceive, following inference that things do not exist, and following inference of impermanence, etc. from self-nature, and from the result
