In that place! The so-called "existence" is that for the phenomenon of conditioned things as the subject (dharmin), it establishes the momentariness of the dharma to be proven (sādhya), it establishes the dharma of the proponent (hetu), the characteristic of its own nature, the existence of coarse impermanence as perceived by direct perception. Therefore, it is called the subject (dharmin). Here, for that subject, the dharma to be proven, the reason for the non-existence of things; the dharma of the proponent, non-apprehension; and the sign of the result, do not exist. Therefore, inference itself, the dharma of the proponent, the characteristic of its own nature, the existence of coarse impermanence as perceived by direct perception, is related by the characteristic of the nature of what is to be proven and what proves it, therefore it is called the nature-hetu. The way of existence in the similar class is the example of similar dharma, that is, whatever is perceived as coarse impermanence by direct perception is momentary. For example, for internal and external conditioned things, the appearance of death and birth, which is praised by all the world, is applied closely. That is, in the case of showing the characteristic of applying examples of one's own kind, it will be explained below. The way of determining non-existence in the dissimilar class is the example of dissimilar dharma. That is also actually shown from the scriptures and other valid cognitions. Here, because the concomitance of the example of similar dharma is shown, the exclusion of the example of dissimilar dharma is also established implicitly, therefore the Blessed One did not actually show it. If you want to know, then whatever does not appear as abiding in impermanence is not momentary. For example, it should be said to be like space. Thus, the characteristic of self-nature with three aspects is also abandoning the three faults of reason, namely unestablished, contradictory, and uncertain. Thus, by the dharma to be inferred, in the way of existence, for the phenomenon of conditioned things as the subject, the dharma to be proven, momentariness, the characteristic of the self-nature of the dharma of the proponent, the existence of coarse impermanence as perceived by direct perception, the self-nature-hetu shown, is the characteristic of the relation of the nature of what is to be proven and what proves it.

That which follows in accordance with the manner of being present on the side of concordance, and possesses contradiction in accordance with the manner of being definitely absent on the side of discordance, is the abandonment of the fault of non-establishment, because there is no unestablished basis, unestablished for oneself, unestablished for others, and so on. It is also the abandonment of the fault of contradiction, because there is no contradiction of that which establishes reversing that which is to be established. It is the abandonment of the fault of uncertainty, because there is no uncommon uncertainty, common uncertainty, uncertainty of being present on one side of the discordant side, and uncertainty of being present on one side of the concordant side, and so on. By this sign, which is called "whatever is manifestly observed to abide in various actions from various sentient beings," this very thing to be established, called "the existence of another world," should be inferred. In the phrase "whatever is manifestly observed to abide in various actions from various sentient beings," the term "various sentient beings" refers to the various sentient beings who abide in the distinctions of different realms, migrations, and birthplaces. This indicates the subject of inference. The term "abiding in various actions" refers to the various dissimilarities in the way the world, such as humans, stand and walk; livestock, such as cattle, bend and walk; snakes, and so on, crawl; birds, and so on, soar in the sky; fish, and so on, float in the water; and in such ways, they strive with self-knowledge without being taught. Some dwell in what place? Some eat what food? Some have what qualities? Some are attached to what faults? Various dissimilar behaviors, and so on. Those who dwell on land cannot bear to dwell in the depths of water. Those who dwell in water cannot enter the land. The cold cannot endure the heat. The heat cannot endure the cold, and so on. They cannot do what is not their own nature. Among them, some can be learned if taught, and can be accustomed if practiced. Some cannot be learned even if taught, and cannot be accustomed even if practiced. Elephants and horses, and so on, are stronger and faster than humans, but can be used by humans, while lice, and so on, are smaller than humans, but humans
