It is said that that is the characteristic of abiding in that, manifestly observable. Regarding "the characteristic of abiding in that, manifestly observable," "that" refers to the object to be inferred. "Abiding" refers to the non-perception of all phenomena that are the means of proof, or the sign of nature or result. "The meaning of individual knowledge, the meaning of direct perception, abiding encompassed by its own characteristic." "Manifestly observable" refers to the non-perception of the phenomena of the proving side, or the sign of nature or result, the meaning of individual knowledge, the object of direct perception, the meaning of direct perception, the abiding encompassed by its own characteristic, that characteristic of direct perception, being manifestly observable because it is free from conceptualization and non-erroneous. "Characteristic" refers to the characteristic of inference. Therefore, for the object to be inferred, using the sign with three aspects to establish the phenomenon to be established, because it is not directly perceived, it is inferred, realized by oneself, and causes others to understand, this is the characteristic of inference. Thus, inference is completely purified by the characteristic of abiding in that, manifestly observable, and becomes a valid cognition. Inference and the characteristic of abiding in that, manifestly observable, should also be understood as having the same nature in terms of entity and characteristic. Abiding in the object to be inferred, using the sign of the phenomena of the proving side being manifestly observable, to establish the phenomenon to be established, which is not directly perceived, what are those to be inferred? All conditioned phenomena are momentary, and there is a future life, and good and bad karma are not wasted, and so on. These are the meaning of what is said, the object of inference, encompassed by the common characteristic of the hidden meaning. The phenomenon to be established, not directly perceived, those to be inferred, as the reason for proof, what are the signs of abiding in that, manifestly observable? The gross impermanence abiding in that, which is manifestly observable, and sentient beings existing in various kinds of actions

Whatever is directly perceived, and whatever is directly perceived where sentient beings abide in virtue and non-virtue arising from happiness and suffering, these are the meanings of individual cognitions, the objects of direct perception प्रमाण (pramāṇa, प्रमाण, measure) , the meaning of direct perception, encompassed by their own characteristics. Thus, for the subject to be inferred, the dharma of the proving side, the meaning of individual cognitions, the object of direct perception प्रमाण (pramāṇa, प्रमाण, measure), the meaning of direct perception, encompassed by its own characteristics, abiding, through direct perception, the dharma to be established, the meaning spoken, the object of inference प्रमाण (pramāṇa, प्रमाण, measure), the meaning of the hidden, encompassed by the nature of impermanence, that should be inferred. The nature of abiding on that, whatever is directly perceived, by this reason, all conditioned phenomena are momentary, this dharma to be established should be inferred. The grossness of impermanence inferred on that, whatever is directly perceived, on that, that refers to the subject to be inferred, the entity of conditioned phenomena. The abiding grossness of impermanence refers to the gross death and transference of impermanence that is not momentary destruction, and the characteristics of birth and destruction, that is its dharma of the proving side, the nature of the cause, the meaning of individual cognitions, the object of direct perception प्रमाण (pramāṇa, प्रमाण, measure), the meaning of direct perception, encompassed by its own characteristics. Whatever is directly perceived refers to the dharma of the proving side, the nature of the cause, the meaning of individual cognitions, the object of direct perception प्रमाण (pramāṇa, प्रमाण, measure), the meaning of direct perception, encompassed by its own characteristics, that itself is the nature of direct perception प्रमाण (pramāṇa, प्रमाण, measure), free from conceptualization and without error, so it is directly perceived. Thus, the dharma of the proving side, the nature of the cause, the grossness of impermanence, directly perceived, through that, the dharma to be established, momentariness, should be inferred. So, in this case, how does the cause of the third mode combine? The nature of existing, etc., to be inferred, is indicated by "from that," to be inferred refers to the subject, the entity of conditioned phenomena.
