In order to rely on the nature of purity and abandon the nature of impurity, even the wise in the world establish it with reason, as has been shown, these branches are what the Blessed One declared. Among them, there are five characteristics of purity, and seven characteristics of impurity, which refers to the sum of the numbers. The indication of the names and the explanation will be explained in order below. So, what are the five characteristics of purity? They are the characteristic of being perceived by direct perception, and the characteristic of the abiding that abides in it being perceived by direct perception, and the characteristic of being closely associated with an example of its own kind, and the characteristic of purity, and the characteristic of showing that the scriptures are extremely pure. This is to say that the previous individual knowledge and explanations, as well as the establishment of the meaning of what was said, and what are the causes and conditions that should be well understood, this is the reason for establishing with reason. Therefore, the Buddha said that the objects of the three valid cognitions of direct perception, inference, and reliable testimony are the objects of individual knowledge known by direct perception, and whatever is said from the scriptures and other valid cognitions is also included. In this way, the meaning of the individual knowledge of the four types of direct perception, that is, the nature of direct perception, refers to whatever is perceived by non-conceptual and non-erroneous knowledge. Combine it with "This is the characteristic of being perceived by direct perception," and the meaning of the words should be combined as explained. After that, the three ways of inference, that is, the characteristic of abiding in it being perceived by direct perception, and the purity shown by the characteristic of being closely associated with an example of its own kind, will be explained. Among them, the dharma of inference refers to the wisdom that follows the object of direct perception, the manifested things related to it, and the hidden meaning that is not separated by place, time, and nature, which is not perceived by direct perception, should be measured by inference. Therefore, here too, the subject to be inferred, that is, the meaning of the individual knowledge of the proponent's dharma that is to be established, the object of direct perception, the meaning of direct perception, the abiding direct perception held by its own nature

Its nature, free from conceptualization and without error, the meaning of explaining the Dharma to be established through non-perception, is after inference, the object of valid cognition, the hidden meaning, encompassed by the nature of generality, not limited by place, time, and nature, that is what should be inferred. Its inference also has two aspects: inference for oneself and inference for others. Among them, that which is realized by its own nature is for oneself, and that by which others understand should be understood as for others. Thus, the nature of inference for oneself and others is that in what should be inferred, through the sign of having three aspects, by realizing oneself, whatever makes others understand is it. What are the three aspects? They are that which exists in what should be inferred, that which exists in the similar class, and that which is definitely absent in the dissimilar class. What is the sign? These three aspects are only endowed with three signs: non-perception, nature, and result. Among them, from non-perception, one should infer the non-existence of things; from nature, one should infer impermanence and momentariness, etc.; from result, one should infer the cause. Among them, what is the nature of the three aspects? The so-called "existing in what should be inferred," the so-called "in what should be inferred" refers to the subject of Dharma that has differences that one wants to know here. The so-called "existing" means that the Dharma to be established in that subject of Dharma to be inferred is the non-existence of things, or impermanence, or momentariness, etc., or the cause and the Dharma of the establishing side are non-perception, or nature, or the existence of the result, thereby preventing the non-establishment of the so-called "because it is grasped by the eye," etc. The so-called "of" is an added word, thereby eliminating the non-establishment of a part of a part, etc. The so-called "existing in the similar class," the similar class is that which agrees with the general meaning and self-meaning of the Dharma to be established, which is an example of Dharma similarity. The so-called "existing" means that in the similar class, there, there is the Dharma of the side that agrees with the general meaning of the side to be established.
