The suffering and discomfort arising from the mind born of karma, that is to be experienced. The faults of the all-pervasive afflictions of birth are that the various distinctions of birth, suffering, uncertainty, and entry, etc., are to be understood as they are in reality. Qualities refer to the various names of the benefits of the completely purified dharmas that I have spoken of, and the completely purified dharmas refer to the path of accumulation, the path of preparation, and the completely purified paths, etc. The various names of those benefits refer to what has been spoken of, from abandoning unfavorable factors and generating antidotes in sequence, until the ultimate result is obtained. The reasons should be understood in six ways, namely: the reason of the meaning of only this, the reason of attainment, the reason of explanation, the reason of completely abandoning the two extremes, the reason of being inconceivable, and the reason of intention. In short, all the objects of knowledge in the Buddha's teachings should be understood through these six reasons. Among them, the first three reasons should be understood through the last three reasons, for example: the reason of the meaning of only this should be understood through the reason of completely abandoning the two extremes. The reason of attainment should be understood through the reason of being inconceivable. The reason of explanation should be understood through the reason of intention. Among them, the meaning of only this is a reason, therefore it is the reason of the meaning of only this, intention itself is a reason, therefore it is the same up to the reason of intention. The meaning of reason is the non-confusion of that and that itself, and the suchness as it is itself, and the non-reversal. Among them, the meaning of only this, in short, should be understood in six ways, namely: the only this of worldly conventions, and the only this established by reason, and the only this of the object of the wisdom that completely purifies the afflictive obscurations, and the only this of the object of the wisdom that completely purifies the obscurations of knowledge, and the only this that is established, and the only this that is not established. Among them, what is the only this of worldly conventions? It is that, with the mind that has entered by following familiarity with terms and conventions, all the views of all worldly people are the same regarding things.

That which all worldly beings perceive as a definite field of experience, coming from one to another, and which is known by names that cognize their own forms, such as objects that are grasped without being thought about, examined, or investigated, whether it is form or sound, etc., all of that is called the conventional truth of the world. What is the conventional truth known by reason? It is the knowledge of those who are skilled and wise in the meaning of supreme reason, who possess logical analysis, who arise from their own courage in the place of logical understanding, and who follow the analysis of individual ordinary beings. It is the object of knowledge, the object of a definitely distinguished field of experience, which is thoroughly established and arranged by reason, based on direct perception, inference, and the valid authority of trustworthy words, and which is the characteristic of both self and general. All of that is called the conventional truth known by reason. What is the truth of the field of experience that purifies the obscurations of affliction? It is the four noble truths, which are the object of worldly knowledge, the uncontaminated and the cause of attaining the uncontaminated, and the subsequent attainment of the uncontaminated, of all Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. All of that is called the truth of the field of experience of the knowledge that purifies the obscurations of affliction. What is the truth of the field of experience of the knowledge that purifies the obscurations of knowledge? It is the ultimate limit of knowledge, the supreme and unsurpassed Suchness, which is the object of the field of experience, beginning with the inexpressible nature of all phenomena, and which the wisdom of Bodhisattvas and Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, enters and will enter into the selflessness of phenomena, which is extremely pure, and which is the same as the non-conceptual nature of verbal designation. All of that is called the truth of the field of experience of the knowledge that purifies the obscurations of knowledge. What is the truth of establishment? It is the four noble truths, namely, the truth of suffering is established as the truth of suffering, and the truth of the path is established as the truth of the path. Why is that? Because it is established by the three types of conventional truths: the conventional truth of the world, the conventional truth of reason, and the conventional truth of realization. Among these, the conventional truth of the world
