The so-called "all knowable things" refers to the previously mentioned objects of the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, such as mindfulness. This is the characteristic of examining the dharmas of the factors of enlightenment. The so-called "characteristic of aspects" refers to observing the eight aspects of examination that have been taught. These eight aspects of examination are merely manifestations of the mind, so they are called the characteristic of aspects, which is the characteristic of what is examined by the mind. The so-called "what are the eight examinations?" is that the aspect of truth is examined through the gate of truth, and the aspect of abiding is examined through the gate of abiding. The aspects of faults and virtues, methods and entry, reasoning and summary, and vastness are also examined as they are through their respective gates. This should be connected accordingly. Among them, the so-called "truth is suchness" refers to the previously taught seven aspects of ultimate truth. The so-called "abiding is the establishment of a person, or the establishment of the nature of what is completely conceptualized, or a single beginning and differentiation and questioning and answering, or the establishment of establishment, or where is the establishment of secrecy and differentiation and answering?" Among them, the establishment of a person, the establishment of the nature of what is completely conceptualized, is as previously explained in the steps of teaching the characteristic of conventional truth. The so-called "establishing by answering in one beginning" is like asking, "Will all sentient beings die?" and answering, "All will die," and so on. The so-called "establishing by differentiating and answering" is like asking, "Will all those who have died be reborn?" and answering, "Those who have afflictions will be reborn; those who have no afflictions will not be reborn," and so on, answering with differentiation. The so-called "establishing by questioning and answering" is like asking, "Are humans superior or inferior?" and asking back, "In relation to what are you asking?" If one says, "I am asking in relation to the lower realms," then the answer is, "They are superior." If one says, "I am asking in relation to the gods,"

Such as answering "That is inferior," and so on. "Answering based on what is to be established" means that when asked, "Is the self one with the aggregates or different?" Since there is no self at all, one thinks, "How could the self be one with the aggregates or different?" and then answers by not saying anything at all, and so on. "Secrecy" means keeping profound meanings secret from beings who have not become vessels (capable ones). "Answering with distinctions" means proclaiming to those who have become vessels. "Faults" refers to the various faults of the afflicted dharmas that I have shown. "Afflicted dharmas" refers to the dharmas that are included by afflictions, actions, and the afflictions that arise from them. What are the various teachings about these faults? The faults of affliction are manifold, such as: afflicting the mind, causing objects to be inverted, making latent tendencies firm, causing the continuum of actions with similar causes to arise, harming oneself, others, and both, generating faults in this life and the next, causing the mind born from them to experience the suffering and unpleasantness arising from them, accomplishing the suffering of birth and so on, making the continuum distant from nirvana, causing virtuous dharmas to completely decline, causing enjoyment to diminish, becoming depressed in the retinue, causing unpleasant bad names to be spread in all directions, being reproached by the noble ones, dying in regret, falling into bad destinies and bad migrations after the body is destroyed and dying, being born in the hells of sentient beings, and not obtaining one's own benefit. The faults of afflicted actions are sevenfold: harming oneself, harming others, harming both, generating faults in this life, generating faults in the next life, generating faults in this life and the next, and
