It is taught that this is done for meditation. Through "the very non-conceptualization itself," etc., it is taught that by not regarding everything as self-nature, one can quickly perfect the pāramitās. Through "the very complete dedication itself," etc., it is taught that merely by praying to attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, the fruit of maturation will also be achieved incidentally, and one can also obtain the inexhaustible pāramitās. The meaning of the words of being skilled in collecting establishments, etc., has been explained. After that, the meaning of the words of being skilled in the distinctions of qualities, etc., will be explained. The so-called being skilled in the distinctions of qualities refers to the two kinds of qualities of the pāramitās, namely, excellence and purity. Among them, excellence has two causes: vastness and non-all-afflictive nature. Purity has three causes: the very purified itself, the very unwavering itself, and the very extremely purified itself. Therefore, in order to be skilled in these, it is taught here. Among them, in order to show excellence through vastness, the Blessed One was asked: What is the very vastness of those pāramitās? The so-called vastness refers to the absence of distinction towards sentient beings, the absence of distinction towards objects, and the absence of distinction towards time. The absence of distinction towards sentient beings means that the bodhisattva relies on and is committed to all sentient beings, thereby universally practicing generosity and other roots of virtue, and not just for himself alone. The absence of distinction towards objects means completely accepting all generosity and other roots of virtue and all aspects, and universally practicing them. The absence of distinction towards time means that in this life, day and night, one constantly combines, does not give up effort, does not abandon diligence, and with the same cause, universally practices those roots of virtue in all lifetimes. Therefore, (the Buddha) said: "What is the very non-attachment itself, the very non-expectation itself, and the very complete dedication itself?" That is, each of the three, non-attachment, etc., is vast through the three, the absence of distinction towards sentient beings, etc.

So it is. Because it is not of all afflictive nature, having made the authority to show the excellence, it was asked: How is it that all afflictions do not exist? Not being of all afflictive nature is: extremely joyful, without discord, respectful, not dependent, extremely joyful. The Bodhisattva's mind is joyful, without suffering, without displeasure, relying on these roots of virtue, and also not regretting with these as the basis. Without discord is: not harming others, without obvious attachment to those who have become seers, and universally practicing these roots of virtue. Respect is: respect and from the depths of the heart regarding these themselves as qualities and essence, extremely certain, not relying on others, not taking away the position of others, correctly accepting these roots of virtue and universally practicing. Not dependent is: not expecting the ripening of these roots of virtue to be a wheel-turning king, or Indra, or Mara, or Brahma, not receiving repayment from others, not relying on gain and respect, and verses. Therefore, what is faultlessness and non-discrimination? Thus it was said, each of the two, faultlessness and so on, is because the four, extremely joyful and so on, are not of all afflictive nature. Thus, because of being vast and not of all afflictive nature, it should be known that the Paramita is excellent, supreme, and uncommon. Having made the authority to show purification by cultivation itself, it was asked: How is cultivation itself? What is called cultivation itself is that after entering the pure land of intention, the roots of virtue that are separately examined and acted upon are naturally stable, clear, great in fruit, and great in benefit. Therefore, it is said, what is the separate examination and action itself? Having made the authority to show purification by immovability, it was asked: How is immovability? What is called immovability is that after entering the land of intention, there is no turning back from those roots of virtue that have been obtained and how they have been accumulated, completely
