That which possesses the meaning of counteracting, and which explains that the nature of the imputed dharma is like a flower in the sky, and that it is completely non-existent in the two truths, what is that? Therefore, in order to explain it, Yönten Jungne (Guna-kara) said to him, "What is the nature of the imputed of all dharmas?" He replied, "In order to accord with the subsequent imputation of terms, whatever is the distinct establishment of names and signs on the self-nature or distinctions of dharmas, that is the nature of the imputed." Here, "in order to accord with the subsequent imputation of terms" means the same as "in order to superimpose." "Of dharmas" refers to the dharmas of the nature of other-power and the dharmas of the nature of perfect establishment. "The distinct establishment of names and signs on the self-nature or distinctions" means the imputation of names and signs as the nature of self-nature, and the imputation of names and signs as the nature of distinctions, which is synonymous with imputed, established, and expressed. Here, "self-nature" refers to whatever is superimposed on self-nature, such as "this is form," "this is feeling," "this is desire," "this is faith," and so on. "Distinction" refers to whatever is superimposed on distinctions, such as "this form is with outflows," "this form is without outflows," "this feeling is moistened by craving," "this feeling is not moistened by craving," "this desire is not abandoned, it is to be abandoned," "this desire is to be abandoned by meditation," "this faith is trust in karma and its results," "this faith is pleasing to the Three Jewels and the truth," and so on. "Name" refers to the cause that does not confuse with other terms, such as "form," "feeling," "desire," "faith," and so on, which are imputed by words. "Sign" refers to the cause that makes terms understandable, such as "sit here," "go over there," "do this," "do not do that," and so on, which are made understandable by words, gestures, or glances. "Distinct establishment" refers to the minds and mental factors of the three realms, which, with non-veridical conceptual thought, impute the self-nature and distinctions of the objects of other-power and perfect establishment, as well as names.

That which is imputed by me, and the establishment of terms, that is a sudden occurrence on things. Thus, the nature of the completely imputed is only the completely imputed. Because it is not the nature of the apprehended and the apprehender, if one understands it in this way, one will be very ignorant of the meaning of non-existence, and will add to existence. Therefore, in order to counteract the ignorance and addition to the meaning of non-existence, it is necessary to have the nature of the completely imputed. After that, in order to counteract the ignorance and slander of the meaning of existence, the meaning of the words of the nature of the Dharma, which needs to be possessed, will be explained. Among them, the so-called "meaning of existence" refers to the nature of other-dependence. That is the nature of inner and outer things, arising dependently on other causes and conditions, like a magic trick, the arising is without self-nature, because the absence of self-nature exists in the conventional truth, it is called the meaning of existence. The so-called "very ignorant" refers to the nature of other-dependence, clinging to the meaning of existence as non-existence. The so-called "cause of slander" refers to being very ignorant of the meaning of existence, which is the cause of slander itself. Because one clings to the meaning of existence as non-existence, and is very ignorant, one slanders the meaning of existence as non-existence. The so-called "nature of the Dharma that needs to be possessed" refers to the nature of the Dharma of other-dependence, which has the meaning of counteracting the cause of slander, like a magic trick, existing in the conventional truth. Therefore, in order to show it, the Source of Qualities said: What is the nature of other-dependence of all Dharmas? It is the dependent arising of all Dharmas. For example, this exists, therefore that arises, this arises, therefore this arises. Among them, the so-called "dependent arising of all Dharmas" refers to all the nature of inner and outer things, arising dependently on other causes and conditions. The so-called "for example, this exists, therefore that arises" refers to mind, etc.
