Up to this point, it has been shown that it should be regarded as the nature of one taste. Then, the characteristic of summarizing their objects is: Then, the Blessed One spoke this verse at that time, like this, using a verse to combine all the ultimate truths that have the nature of one taste with the display of summarizing those objects. Among them, first, the characteristic of manifest pride is distinguished, and the meaning of the words, etc., should be explained. The so-called distinguishing the characteristic of manifest pride refers to some people who do not understand the suchness of all dharmas, the ultimate truth of no-self, which has the nature of one taste in all places, and only through understanding the different characteristics of each object such as aggregates, they think that they have understood the ultimate truth, and they convey their knowledge to others. Therefore, in order to show that, they made this instruction: Subhuti, how many sentient beings do you think there are in the realm of sentient beings who have manifest pride, are conquered by manifest pride, and convey knowledge? Like this, they said. Here, there are three types of distinguishing the characteristic of manifest pride, namely, the manifest pride of the object of grasping, the manifest pride of the grasper, and the manifest pride of detailed distinction of characteristics. Among them, the manifest pride of the object of grasping is to show the manifestation of various perceptions with the dharmas of the object of grasping such as aggregates as the object, thinking that they have understood the ultimate truth, and conveying their knowledge to others. The manifest pride of the grasper is to thoroughly understand the suchness of one dharma such as aggregates, the ultimate truth of no-self, and then seek the suchness of the ultimate truth of no-self in other individual dharmas. The manifest pride of detailed distinction of characteristics is to think that the characteristics of dharmas such as aggregates are different from each other, and similarly, the suchness of these dharmas, the ultimate truth of no-self, also has different characteristics. After those, knowledge is conveyed by showing the manifestation of various perceptions with various dharmas as the object.
