Skilled in eliminating diseases that have arisen, and skilled in preventing diseases from recurring after they have been eliminated. This is entered into through those four aspects themselves. The science of logic is the treatise on logic, which is whatever exists at the time of examination. It should be viewed in seven aspects: speaking, the promise of speaking, the basis of speaking, the adornment of speaking, being sanctioned by the punishment of speaking, arising from speaking, and the qualities needed to cherish speaking. It also enters in two aspects: the aspect of showing the benefits of speaking in order to seek the faults of others, and the aspect of showing the benefits of liberation from the opponent's refutation arising from others. The science of sounds is the treatise on sounds, which makes grammar express the manner of imputation. It should be viewed in six aspects: the manner of imputing the imputation of phenomena, the manner of imputing the imputation of meaning, the manner of imputing the imputation of persons, the manner of imputing the imputation of time, the manner of imputing the imputation of number, and the manner of imputing the imputation of the basis together with its branches. Again, it enters in two aspects: the aspect of showing the establishment of the very nature of the root of language, and the aspect of showing the benefits of well-composed words. The science of crafts and occupations is knowing the worldly crafts and occupations. It should be viewed in twelve aspects: the craft of sewing, the craft of trade, the craft of serving the king, writing, arithmetic, telling and recording, the craft of numbers and manual calculation, the craft of observing omens, the craft of intelligence, the craft of generation, the craft of percussion, the craft of sewing, the craft of mixing, the craft of cooking, and the craft of music. This enters through the aspect of showing the complete accomplishment of the results of establishing one's own work and the place of crafts. How to seek? In short, one seeks through the three aspects of a Bodhisattva: great reverence and closeness, perfect conduct, and perfect listening. Among these, great reverence and closeness are of two kinds: seeking while enduring suffering, and seeking while renouncing happiness. Conduct

The perfection of assembly has four aspects: desiring qualities, going to the one who speaks the Dharma, not with a mind of fault-finding; going with respect, not filled with arrogance; thinking about seeking what kind of virtue, not for the sake of accomplishing oneself; thinking about truly combining the roots of virtue of oneself and others, not for gain and respect. The perfection of listening has two aspects: listening without affliction, and listening without distraction. Among them, listening without affliction means listening by being free from three afflictions: Listening free from the affliction of arrogance, listening free from the affliction of contempt, and listening free from the affliction of timidity. Among them, one becomes free from the affliction of arrogance through six aspects: listening at the right time, showing respect, serving, not getting angry, following through, and not finding fault. One becomes free from the affliction of contempt through four aspects: placing respect on the Dharma, placing respect on the person who speaks the Dharma, not despising the Dharma, and not despising the person who speaks the Dharma. One becomes free from the affliction of timidity through one aspect: not despising oneself by thinking that one is not capable. Listening without distraction has five aspects: having a mind to fully understand, having a one-pointed mind, listening attentively, paying attention, and listening by thinking with all one's mind. Why seek? Bodhisattvas seek inner knowledge for two reasons: in order to truly practice with diligence in accordance with the Dharma, and in order to truly show it to others. Seeking the science of healing is also for two reasons: in order to distinguish the various states of sentient beings, and in order to benefit the great assembly of people. Seeking logic is for four reasons: in order to truly understand correct explanations and incorrect explanations as they are.
